FIAN Nepal was established in 2008 with the objective to promote and advocate for the realization of human right to adequate food in Nepal, focusing on the vulnerable people and communities.

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled persons to join FIAN Nepal in the following positions for the implementation of “Strengthening the right to food & food sovereignty in Nepal” project. The Project will focus on advocacy on right to food & food sovereignty. Furthermore; the intervention will focus on policy advocacy, monitoring; and facilitate processes towards implementation of right to food & food sovereignty act, localization of sustainable development goal 2, strengthening food governance system and promoting justiciability of the right to food in Nepal.

1.  Planning, Monitoring & Documentation Officer (PM&D-1, Female only):  Kathmandu Based with frequent field visits in working Palikas/Districts/ Provinces.

This is a senior level position. This position will be responsible for planning, monitoring, reporting and documentation of project “Strengthening Right to Food & Food Sovereignty in Nepal”. In addition, s/he will be also responsible to monitor the status of the program implementation in line with the results chain framework including preparing periodic plan and progress reports.

Academic Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • Masters’ degree in social science, law, development studies, management or related discipline with at least five (5) years of professional work experiences in the field of planning, monitoring, evaluation & documentation.

Position: Planning, Monitoring & Documentation Officer

Location: FIAN Nepal Central Office, Kathmandu

Reporting to: Executive Director

Purpose of the Post

An enthusiastic individual who has a good understanding of all aspects of planning, monitoring & documentation. She /he will also be expected to assist team in maintaining and supporting to develop the publication materials and communication systems of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in close coordination with Policy Advocacy & Monitoring Officer, Province coordinator and program team for Planning, Monitoring, and Documentation.
  • Lead for overall organizational PM&E system and strengthen outcome-oriented programme and monitoring processes.
  • Support in developing project monitoring guidelines, methodology and approach based on project objectives and indicators.
  • Ensure that results are achieved by effectively monitoring, reviewing the programme approach and process, seek best practices and innovative approaches and apply them to programme/project development and implementation process.
  • Compile reports from the districts & provincial offices and lead to produce progress reporting of the project in line with the result chain framework.
  • Document best practices and lessons learnt of the project and ensure that they are disseminated among concerned stakeholders.
  • Lead to develop periodic plan of the project,
  • Support and monitor the filed staffs to achieve the expected result of project.
  • Prepare publication materials (E-Newsletters, website/social media content, success stories), case documentation and case sheets in support of program staffs.
  • Maintain quality photo and news coverage documentation in support of project staffs.
  • Report to the line manager for necessary updates in time.
  • Regular field visit for outcome monitoring and of the projects.

Job competencies

  • Practical knowledge on basic computer programme operation, email and internet,
  • Clear communication skill in both English and Nepali,

  • Have a learning attitude
