The Danish Red Cross (DRC) has enduring partnerships with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), and Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) DRC Country Strategies guide the engagement which cover the period 2022 – 2025. They focus on support to communities to prepare for, anticipate, and respond to, and recover from disasters; the delivery of community health care services (including MHPSS); support to people to adapt to the impact of population movement; as well as promoting the engagement and inclusion of the most vulnerable, and marginalized groups in society. In both Bangladesh, and Nepal, there is also an increasing focus on supporting the respective National Societies (BDRCS, and NRCS) respond to the humanitarian impacts of the climate crisis within their programs, projects; integrate innovation as a priority; and explore new partnership opportunities In 2024, the DRC has begun the implementation of a Country Cluster which composes individual Country Offices in Bangladesh and Nepal, which are supervised by a Country Cluster Manager. This is as an effort to maintain as well grow the position of DRC as a leading actor in support of the BDRCS and NRCS as an integrated member of IFRC, as well as within the broader humanitarian-development community in both countries. To do so necessitates increased focus on external partner engagement, branding, communications, as well as upholding the utmost quality assurance of the existing programming being implemented with support from key partners. This requires specialised human resources dedicated to the task to ensure successful delivery. |
Job purpose
The Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Coordinator will be based in the DRC Country Office (CO) which is an integrated part of the IFRC in Nepal and located in Kathmandu. They will work under the supervision of the DRCs Country Cluster Manager, but in liaison technically with other members of the COs in Bangladesh, and Nepal, the Europe and Asia Regional Office, and Global Partnerships unit in Copenhagen. The Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Coordinator will be responsible under the guidance of the Country Cluster Manager for stakeholder mapping, project idea creation, development of concept notes and proposals as well as managing of internal processes for fundraising based on the broader ambitions, priorities and needs of the DRC COs in Bangladesh, and Nepal. They will act as a support to the Country Cluster Manager in external engagement with key donors and partners to strengthen relationships with them, including ensuring they are kept engaged and informed of the work being done by DRC in Bangladesh, and Nepal. The Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to members of the DRC CO on all aspects of reporting, learning, and ensuring of accountability in terms of donor compliance and regulations. They will work closely with Communications counterparts in the DRC COs, Regional Office and as needed IFRC Country Delegation to support the creation of communication products, and externally orientated materials that demonstrate the impact of the work being done with NRCS, and the capacity of DRC in key thematic areas. There is an expectation that they will contribute actively to building the capacity of the DRC CO staff and NRCS counterparts on donor compliance and regulations. The Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Coordinator will be based in Kathmandu, Nepal, but will be called to travel to Bangladesh, along with areas where DRC is supporting programming (as required). |
