Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-governmental development organization established in 1996 and working on sustainable agriculture and food security, Disaster risk reduction and climate change, natural resource management, lobby and advocacy, civic quality education, infrastructure development, social mobilization and movement. The organisation focuses to work with vulnerable families and communities, and smallholder farmers to improve their livelihood. At present, the organization is implementing several projects in a total of 21 districts of Nepal.

Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation Project (LIFT Phase V) is implementing in Okhaldhunga, Udayapur, Mugu, Kalikot, Bajura, Kailali and Achham districts of Nepal. The main goal of the project is to improve the food security and nutrition situation of the vulnerable families and smallholder farmers from the project districts.  

SAHAS Nepal is looking for youth, energetic candidates work in rural areas with Dalit, women and smallholder farmers for the following position in the LIFT Project.

1. Position: Nutrition Officer

Duty Station: Dhangadi/Surkhet

Required number: 1

Academic qualification/experiences:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public health and Nutrition
• Experience in Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition 
• Excellent knowledge in statistical tools, data analysis and report writing skill
• Good coordination skills in working with Province and local governments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Major responsibilities:

• Planning and implementation of nutrition and WASH related activities
• provide technical backstopping to health technicians and other project staffs
• Prepare nutrition and WASH related training modules and organise training to health technicians
• Enhancing nutrition awareness tools among target beneficiaries
• Conduct regular monitoring and supervision visits to ensure the quality implementation of the project
• Prepare and timely submit reports, case /success story regularly 
• Support for developing strategies and guideline in nutrition to Health Unit of Rural Municipality
• Linkage and network with province level departments and ministries, and I/NGOs for coordination and cooperation.
• Organise workshop at Province level government and stakeholders.
