Current Open Positions at CLEAN UP NEPAL
1. Job title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer
Required number: 1
Duration: At least 12 months
Location: Based in the National Office (50% above field visit)
Job Type: Full-time
Remuneration: Gross Salary per month (NPR 50,000 to 60,000)
We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and diligent individual interested and well-experienced in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning. MEAL Officer is responsible for all aspects of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning at a strategic and program-wide level. MEAL Officer must meet the following requirements as Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. At least 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning, preferably within a national-level NGO.
- Expertise in working with databases, MS Office, and analytical software such as SPSS.
- M&E Systems Knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience with computerized M&E systems is an advantage.
- Practical work experience in areas: Capacity building, Accountability and Complaints handling, Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting.
- Proficient in report writing and documentation.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work well with peopl from different backgrounds and cultures.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor program interventions in the field, prepare reports, conduct debriefing sessions, and develop Gantt Charts.
- Assist in preparing project reports adhering to a logical framework and contribute to the organization's annual report.
- Continuously monitor, track, and report progress, ensuring compliance with CLEAN UP NEPAL's quality standards and donor criteria.
- Design and implement monitoring tools, regularly evaluate accessible tools, and contribute to staff capacity building.
- Establish, monitor, and strengthen Beneficiary Accountability, including staff capacity building.
- Provide technical support to projects, assess progress against approved plans, and contribute to baseline data and surveys.
- Establish and manage a Complaint and Feedback Mechanism, maintain central registers, and incorporate feedback for organizational learning.
- Assist in updating databases and data tracking tools for various projects, ensuring data quality for reporting criteria.
- Undertake any other related duties as requested by the office.
2. Job title: Communication Officer
Required number: 1
Duration: At least 12 months
Location: Based in the National Office (50% above field visit)
Job Type: Full-time
Remuneration: Gross Salary per month (NPR 50,000 to 55,000)
We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and diligent individual who is interested and well-experienced in information, communication, and technology. To manage Clean Up Nepal's information and communication system, to update various organization activities on websites and blogs, to manage Safa Nepal dashboard/ application, Zero Waste at School digital platform, and so on. Communication Officer must meet the following requirements as Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in mass communication or a related field. At least 2 years of working experience.
- Experience in managing social media platforms.
- Proficiency in creating and editing short video clips for social media.
- Creative and innovative approach to developing engaging content.
- Experience in graphic design for both print and digital, using tools like Canva.
- Some experience with Adobe software (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, etc.) or equivalent.
- Ability to work with GSuite tools (sheets, docs, calendar).
- Excellent editing and copywriting skills in both English and Nepali.
- Experience in producing engaging content for different audiences.
- Ability to work well with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Main Responsibilities
- Compile and manage the organization's blog newsletters for readers and contributors.
- Create, edit, and publish new pages on the website.
- Design social media content (graphics, videos, posts) to drive growth and engagement.
- Stay updated on social media trends and maintain project progress on blogs and the website.
- Design and produce visibility materials for a diverse audience in the required language.
- Develop and conduct communication trainings for trainers.
- Work closely with the Executive Director to stay updated on information and communication priorities.
- Handle the Safa Nepal and Zero Waste at School digital platform, including the review and update of waste management issues.
- Record interviews and copy-edit stories about the organization's work for media and advocacy.
- Perform data collection, analysis, and basic evaluation.
- Identify new communication platforms and ideas.
- Keep up to date with information to ensure content and stories are timely.
- Undertake any other related duties as requested by the office.
3. Project Officer
Required number: 2
Duration: At least 12 months
Location: Based in the National Office (60% above field visit)
Job Type: Full-time
Remuneration: Gross Salary per month (NPR 50,000 to 60,000)
We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and diligent individual interested and well-experienced in social mobilization and community facilitation. The Project Officer is responsible for all aspects of project implementation at the local level. The project Officer must meet the following requirements as Essential skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environment or any other with a minimum of 4 years of field-level experience in social mobilization and community facilitation.
- Experience in reporting, updating databases, and proficiency in MS Office, including MS Excel.
- Practical work experience in at least one of the following areas: Capacity building, facilitation, coordination with local government, and community groups.
- Working experience in campaign and advocacy, including mobilizing volunteers for environmental protection.
- Proficient in coordination, facilitation, mobilization, and reporting.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of assigned projects, ensuring activities are carried out according to the project Gantt Chart and timeline.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including team members, partners, and Kathmandu Metropolitan, Lalitpur Metropolitan and relevant authorities, to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Monitor project activities, track progress, and assess the achievement of project goals and objectives.
- Prepare regular reports on project status, including updates on milestones, challenges, and achievements.
- Assist in budget management, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet project requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, reports, and other relevant records.
- Identify and address any issues or challenges that may arise during project implementation, working towards timely solutions.
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and beneficiaries, ensuring clear understanding of project objectives and activities.
- Take the lead in organizing river cleanup campaigns at Bagmati, Manohara, Bishnumati, and other locations.
- Provide support to enhance the knowledge of informal waste workers, including the implementation of safety net measures (health insurance, WASH facilities, hygiene equipment, PPE etc).
- Ensure the smooth operation of activities related to the Safa Nepal digital platform. Oversee and facilitate activities to promote the concept of Zero Waste at Schools.
- Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for project beneficiaries or team members as needed.
- Ensure that project activities comply with quality standards and organizational guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and guidelines in all project activities.
- Adjust project strategies as needed based on evolving circumstances or feedback.
- Contribute to project evaluations and learning initiatives to improve future project implementations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in project processes and outcomes.
- Engage with the community and stakeholders to build positive relationships and ensure project relevance.

4. Social Mobilizer

Duration: At least 12 months
Location: Based in the Kathmandu (90% above field visit)
Job Type: Full-time
Remuneration: Gross Salary per month (NPR 30,000 to 35,000)
We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and diligent individual interested and well-experienced in field mobilization and social and community facilitation. The Social Mobilizer is responsible for field-level implementation of the project activities. The Social Mobilizer must meet the following requirements as Essential skills and experience:
- The minimum requirement is an intermediate level with a minimum of 1 and a half years of field-level experience in social mobilization and community facilitation.
- Practical work experience in at least one of the following areas: Capacity building, facilitation, coordination with local government, and community groups.
- Working experience in field mobilization and social and community facilitation, including mobilizing volunteers for environmental protection.
- Proficient in field-level coordination, facilitation, mobilization, and communication.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills with relevant personnel.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Main Responsibilities
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to create awareness about the project's objectives, benefits, and ongoing activities.
- Assist community meetings and discussions to gather input, address concerns, and encourage active participation in project initiatives.
- Support to organize and mobilize local volunteers for river cleanup campaigns and other community-centered projects.
- Collaborate with informal waste workers to grasp their needs and challenges, offering support to enhance their knowledge and overall well-being.
- Assist in executing outreach programs aimed at educating the community on effective waste management practices and the significance of adopting a Zero Waste approach.
- Assist in orchestrating capacity-building sessions for community members, emphasizing sustainable practices and environmental conservation.
- Systematically collect and document pertinent social data to monitor the project's impact on the community and its beneficiaries.
- Support to address community concerns and feedback, acting as a bridge between the project team and the local population.
- Assist the Project Officer in planning and executing events or initiatives linked to the Safa Nepal digital platform.
- Collaborate with local authorities and organizations to ensure the seamless integration of project activities within the community.
- Contribute to the creation of social impact assessments and play a role in project evaluations, gauging the effectiveness of social mobilization efforts.
- Maintain transparent communication channels with community leaders, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
- Any other related duties as requested by the office.
