The Centre for Mental Health and Counselling – Nepal (CMC-Nepal), a national-level NGO dedicated to promoting mental health and psychosocial well-being, is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Psychosocial Coordinator and Psychosocial Counsellor under the Empowered Women Prosperous Nepal (EWPN) project and GBV Prevention and Response Phase II Project. Both the projects are supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) which aim to empower women and promote gender equality in Nepal in 18 districts across four provinces— Sudurpachhim, Karnali, Madesh and Koshi. CMC-Nepal focuses its activities in those projects in enhancing access to mental health and psychosocial support services for women and girls, particularly those affected by gender-based violence (GBV) and other forms of adversity.

Number of positions: 1 (One)
Location: CMC-Nepal’s central office, Kathmandu
Position Overview: The MEAL Officer is responsible to develop and maintain updated and effective monitoring and evaluation data base system of the project and keep information management platform as required. The person in this position maintains a functional reporting system with CPSW coordinators, Psychosocial Counsellors and Case Managers of the project locations and works in close coordination with project and GBV Service Providers team for programmatic, monitoring and reporting purpose.
Roles/ Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain updated and effective monitoring and evaluation data base system of the project and keep efficient information management platform
- Design & implement the monitoring framework of the project and also develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative & quantitative evidence gathered by the projects.
- Maintain functional reporting system and provide technical assistance to the CPSW Coordinator, Case Managers, Psychosocial Counsellors, Psychosocial Coordinators and Health Coordinators, particularly in relation to monitoring and data management of the projects
- Support to the case managers and psychosocial counsellors in documentation of the case files at OCMCs and community outreach
- Collect, compile, and support to prepare a detailed qualitative/ quantitative progress report of the services delivered to GBV survivors in quarterly basis
Qualification and experience requirements:
- Master’s Degree preferably in the field of Information Technology and Management Information Systems or Public Health or Psychology or Social Science or other related fields relevant to the above duties is required
- Minimum 3 years of progressive and relevant experience in management information systems and development of databases and experience in Monitoring & Evaluation of GBV prevention and response or mental health or health related projects
- Experience in developing professional data system for project management is an advantage
- Having good comprehending and learning attitude in mental health and psychosocial field, preferably in Gender, GBV and other social issues
- Good skills in data management of psychosocial support work of GBV service providers in the district, report writing skills and case documentation skills in English, along with knowledge and skills in SPSS and other research and documentation tools.
- Having good skills of analyzing Monitoring & Evaluation data, solicit feedback, writing case studies and reports and analyse the report and information to draw out learning and implications of the project interventions
- Demonstrate ability to work in multi-sectoral approach and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
- Willingness to undertake field visits in difficult conditions.
