Goreto Gorkha Is a Non-Profit and non-Governmental organization established in 2049 BS (1992 AD). It is legally registered in district Administration office of Gorkha, it is registered in Social Welfare Council also. This organization works in Community Mobilization, education, women empowerment, community development, Livelihood, Water Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Activities (WASH), Shelter, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaption (DRR/CCA), Energy, Indoor Air Pollution Alleviation, leadership development for youth, Generation of Employment, Enterprise development and its Rehabilitation, Gender equality and Social Inclusion,  Infrastructure and other right based approach with partnership of different Partners development organization (NGOs, INGOs) and Nepal Government and its agencies.  

Project Summary: Goreto Gorkha (GG) with support from partner Renewable World (RW), is implementing Energy for Health (E4H) Scale-Up phase 1 project in Dharche rural municipality of Gorkha district. The objective of the project is to improve access to and quality of health services for communities’ people in seven energy-poor off-grid communities in Gorkha District of Nepal through clean energy solutions by 2025. The project will install solar power systems for electricity supply with water filter, improve WASH resources and linkages to telemedicine services in 7 rural heath unit of Dharche RM. It is a one-year project initiated from October 2024 and ends by September 2025.

GG is announcing a vacancy for Meal Officer to undertake the following tasks and responsibilities.  

Detail /Requirements:

Job Title: MEAL Officer

Role: MEAL Officer–sits in the project team, led by Project Manager. The position is fully responsible to manage and lead MEAL and documentation related activities under E4H Scale Up project for proposed district under the leadership of executive chief, also to support field staffs for documentation & reporting.

Location: Gorkha (GG office) with 40% field visit to project location (Dharche RM)

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen supervision and evaluation plan.
• Provide technical support to field staff for quality assurance of the project activities, data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.
• Prepare periodic reports (e.g.: monthly, quarterly) and report to the supervisor.
• Creating contents, stories and support in process documentation of project. 
• To ensure that the prepared detail indicators measurement plan of the project is inline.
• Assist in monitoring and evaluation of projects conducted by relevant stakeholder government line agencies and donor.
• Ensure that all the programmatic and legal compliance of the progress is fulfilled.
• Supervise the field staffs and ensure that project activities are aligned with the planned objectives, targets, and outcomes.
• Reporting and documentations of Feedback Response Mechanism obtained from the community/ stakeholders.
• Documentation of project activities database.
• Support for endline and baseline survey of the project.
• Any other operational matters as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQURIEMENTS:

• Bachelor’s in development studies or social sciences (Master’s degree is desirable)
• At least 2 years working experience in an I/NGO in MEAL and documentation related roles. 
• Experience in building capacity of people and organizations. 
• Experience of gathering, analysing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data.
• Proven knowledge of computerized systems; high degree of computer literacy and word processing and spreadsheet/Excel skills.
• Some experience of working for content creation, building documentary, photography, and videography.
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with others. 
• Ability to analyse and communicate complex information to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team while promoting high standards.
• Autonomous in finding solutions to problems.
