ASN has been engaged in developing and implementing programs aimed at protection, promotion, and fulfillment of child rights in Nepal. Currently ASN has been working in 20 districts under 6 Thematic Areas as: Education/Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Livelihood/ Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health/ Nutrition and Good Governance.

Aasaman Nepal is implementing SRHR and Gender equality/women empowerment including ending child marriage and harmful practices Programs in Madhesh Province, in the partnership with UNFPA(Proposed). The overarching objectives of the programs are to enhance reproductive health outcomes, eliminate gender-based violence, empower women economically and socially, and reduce child marriage. The integrated approach aims to provide comprehensive reproductive health services, promote gender equity, facilitate women's economic empowerment through skill development and entrepreneurship, and contribute to the global effort of ending child marriage. These programs collectively strive to create a society where individuals, particularly women and adolescents, have the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to make informed decisions about their health, well-being, and future.
Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following position:
1. Position Title: MEAL Coordinator (Female only)
Project/Program: Reproductive Health and Rights for Accelerating Impacts (RHEA), Empowered Women Prosperous Nepal (EWPN), Ending Child Marriage (ECM)

Position Overview:
The MEAL Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning components of the RHEA, EWPN, and ECM programs implemented by Aasaman Nepal in partnership with UNFPA. The MEAL Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the programs through robust data management, compliance with UNFPA requirements, regular reporting, and knowledge sharing. The role includes designing and implementing monitoring frameworks, conducting evaluations, facilitating learning, and ensuring accountability across project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive MEAL framework and tools to monitor program progress and outcomes in alignment with UNFPA standards.
- Assess the effectiveness of Rupantaran training, GTA training, roll out family dialogue sessions by analyzing changes in participants' knowledge and behavior.
- Evaluate the impact of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) training provided to teachers and health workers.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and gathering feedback from beneficiaries.
- Establish data collection systems to track key indicators for Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Gender Transformative Approach (GTA), and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) training sessions and events.
- Support the establishment of Adolescent-Friendly Information Corners (AFICs) and Adolescent-Friendly Health Services (AFHS) by monitoring their functionality and utilization.
- Conduct periodic assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness and impact of project interventions.
- Oversee the operation and management of safe houses by tracking service utilization, beneficiary satisfaction and compliance with safety and protection protocols.
- Monitor linkages between safe houses and One-Stop Crisis Management Centers (OCMCs) to ensure coordinated support services for survivors.
Accountability
- Ensure that accountability mechanisms are in place for beneficiaries and stakeholders, including feedback and complaint-handling systems.
- Facilitate quarterly beneficiary meetings to ensure program relevance, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Engage with community members, peer facilitators, and focal teachers to gather feedback and ensure that community voices are incorporated into project planning and implementation.
Learning and Knowledge Sharing
- Document key learnings, best practices, case stories, and success stories from project activities to inform program improvements.
- Organize learning sessions and knowledge-sharing events to disseminate lessons learned across project teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of event reports and narrative reports with detailed analysis and insights.
- Maintain an updated repository of project-related data and reports for easy access and use by the project team and partners.
Data Management and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection, entry, validation, and analysis in compliance with UNFPA data requirements.
- Manage project databases and ensure data security, accuracy, and consistency.
- Prepare quarterly progress reports, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data and narratives in line with UNFPA reporting guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager and field staff to ensure timely submission of reports and compliance with donor requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards by integrating PSEA principles into MEAL processes and reporting mechanisms.
Capacity Building and Support
- Provide training and technical support to project staff, peer facilitators, and community facilitators on MEAL-related tools, processes, and reporting.
- Support focal teachers managing AFICs in tracking and reporting on student engagement and usage.
- Facilitate orientations and capacity-building sessions for School Management Committees (SMCs) and AFIC focal teachers to improve the effective implementation of adolescent-friendly services.
Key Deliverables:
- Evaluation reports for CSE and SRHR training sessions.
- Quarterly Workplan Progress Reports (QWPR) as per UNFPA guidelines.
- Documentation of case stories, success stories, and best practices.
- Event and narrative reports for key project activities.
- Functional and operational feedback mechanisms.
- Updated project databases and data management systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, preferably in the fields of SRHR, gender and adolescent empowerment.
- Experience working with UN agencies, particularly UNFPA is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of MEAL tools, frameworks and methodologies.
- Proven experience in data management, analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and capacity-building skills.

Working Conditions:
- The position will be based in Janakpur, Madhesh Province with frequent field visits to project sites.
- The MEAL Coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager, project staff, community facilitators, and UNFPA representatives.
Languages: Strong command of Nepali, English, Maithili, Bhojpuri (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.
