Introduction

Divya Development Resource Centre(DDRC), Parsa is a non-profitable, nongovernmental organization established in 2050 B.S. DDRC registered address is Kalimai Rural Municipality Ward No. 5, Biranchibarwa, Parsa, Nepal. DDRC, has set its Vision “A healthy society of men, women and children where (Justice) opportunities are (Equitably) shared which sustains positive change and dignity for all.” In order to reach this destination, it has its mission- to facilitate a process of participatory development approach, which empowers men and women, to attain all the rights with special attention to marginalized groups, to guarantee the dignity of all.

About the Project

Hamro Pratigya – Our Promise: Empowering Voices, Ending Gender-Based Violence Project under Security and Justice Programme.

Eliminating gender-based violence (GBV), This project is envisaged in the context of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s (FCDO)’s International Strategy on Women and Girls (2023-2030), the UK Gender Equality Act 2014, and the British Embassy Kathmandu (BEK) Country Plan, in particular, the goal defined as ‘Changes in social norms in key institutions and society mean less acceptance of GBV’. The project is strongly aligned with BEK’s commitments to the (a) transition to federalism in line with the 2015 constitution and (b) inclusive development, leaving no-one behind in the effort to empower the poor and traditionally marginalized and to improve service delivery to them.  A multi-year project directly funded by FCDO and Lead by the People in Need. It is expected that the programme will directly benefit community members, Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The priority district is Bara, Sarlahi & Dhanusha in Madhesh Province, which is implementation by the DDRC Parsa.

DDRC places human dignity at the center of its relief and development work. At the heart of DDRC’s efforts to impact poverty and social justice is its engagement with marginalized communities, and vulnerable adults and children. Vulnerable adults and children are particularly at risk of sexual exploitation and abuse. DDRC commits to the protection from sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse (PSHEA) of vulnerable adults, involving DDRC Employees and Related Personnel. DDRC has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. DDRC takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving DDRC Employees and Related Personnel. DDRC initiates rigorous investigation of complaints that indicate a possible violation of this policy and takes appropriate disciplinary action, as warranted.
