MEAL and LISION Officer

Established in 1997, SEBAC-Nepal is a national-level, non-profit making NGO. It has covered a total of 44 districts of Nepal and is implementing various development and humanitarian Projects in Nepal. SEBAC-Nepal invites applications from young, qualified, energetic and result-oriented Nepalese citizens for the position of MEAL and LISION Officer.

Designation: MEAL and LISION Officer

Positions: Two

Duty Station: Rajapur, Bardiya & Inarwa, Sunsari 

Period: Two months (October & November)

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role, with hands-on experience in monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and liaison activities.

Job Summary:

The MEAL and LISION Officer is responsible for monitoring of activities and documentation based on strategic and critical thinking. They shall document all project-related activities, including cash distributions, best practices, lesson learned and any challenges or issues faced during implementation for project reporting. He/she will directly report to the Forecast based Anticipatory Action Project’s Program Coordinators of SEBAC-Nepal.

Key responsibilities.

  • Oversee the monitoring of all project activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and critical project milestones.
  • Document cash distributions, work assignments, work completion, and any challenges during the implementation phase for project reporting.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of beneficiary identification, eligibility criteria, and attendance records for project activities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all project-related documentation, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist the Program Officers in compiling regular progress reports that highlight project achievements, challenges, and completed activities.
  • Ensure timely collection, analysis, and presentation of quantitative and qualitative data to feed into project reporting.
  • Support effective communication between project teams and external stakeholders, including local authorities, partner organizations, and beneficiaries.
  • Provide feedback mechanisms for beneficiaries to ensure their input is captured and used to improve project delivery.
  • Facilitate liaison with local authorities, CSOs, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of project activities and foster positive relationships.
  • Assist in organizing coordination meetings with key stakeholders and ensure regular follow-up on key action points.
  • Represent the project in relevant stakeholder meetings, workshops, and events to communicate progress and gather insights for ongoing improvements.
  • Prepare reports on field monitoring and evaluation activities, presenting data, challenges, and impact assessments.
  • Compile and submit required documentation to meet reporting deadlines as per donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Support training of field staff on monitoring tools, data collection, and reporting protocols to improve documentation and evaluation practices.
  • Documentation of records of beneficiary identification, eligibility criteria, attendance. 
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories related to project implementation for knowledge sharing and future programming as well as compilation of progress report for preparation of final completion report.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and liaison activities.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of M&E frameworks, data collection, and reporting processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data critically and provide strategic input.
  • Strong writing skills with excellent command of English language with research and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent skills in computer (Windows, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
