Introduction

Divya Development Resource Centre(DDRC), Parsa is a non-profitable, nongovernmental organization established in 2050 B.S. DDRC registered address is Kalimai Rural Municipality Ward No. 5, Biranchibarwa, Parsa, Nepal. DDRC, has set its Vision “A healthy society of men, women and children where (Justice) opportunities are (Equitably) shared which sustains positive change and dignity for all.” In order to reach this destination, it has its mission- to facilitate a process of participatory development approach, which empowers men and women, to attain all the rights with special attention to marginalized groups, to guarantee the dignity of all.

About the Project

Hamro Pratigya – Our Promise: Empowering Voices, Ending Gender-Based Violence Project under Security and Justice Programme.

Eliminating gender-based violence (GBV), This project is envisaged in the context of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s (FCDO)’s International Strategy on Women and Girls (2023-2030), the UK Gender Equality Act 2014, and the British Embassy Kathmandu (BEK) Country Plan, in particular, the goal defined as ‘Changes in social norms in key institutions and society mean less acceptance of GBV’. The project is strongly aligned with BEK’s commitments to the (a) transition to federalism in line with the 2015 constitution and (b) inclusive development, leaving no-one behind in the effort to empower the poor and traditionally marginalized and to improve service delivery to them.  A multi-year project directly funded by FCDO and Lead by the People in Need (PIN). It is expected that the programme will directly benefit community members, Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The priority districts are Bara, Sarlahi & Dhanusha in Madhesh Province, which is implementation by the DDRC, Parsa.

1. Master Trainer-1 (Female Candidate Only)

Duty Location: Based in DDRC Province office, Janakpur, Dhanusha with frequent visits to project areas      

Reports to: Technical Coordinator

Scope: Master Trainer will oversee contextualization, quality and implementation of Gender Transformative Social Norms toolkit which includes but not limited to management of facilitators, youth champions, activities; capacity building of community groups and support in alignment of action plans

Key Responsibilities:

Quality and Delivery:

  • Ensure quality of delivery of sessions on Gender Transformative Social Norms toolkit.
  • Conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) for facilitators.
  • Ensure contextualization of the Gender Transformative Social Norms toolkit.
  • Ensure the quality and effectiveness of all training sessions.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with local levels and other stakeholders to ensure smooth training operations.
  • Collaborate with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and others like minded agencies and networks
  • Coordinate with project officers to track implementation of action plans
  • Internal Coordination: triangle coordination with technical coordinator, project officer and community engagement officer.

Facilitator Management:

  • Training facilitation, Mentor and guide facilitators throughout the training process.
  • Support in creation and maintenance of safe spaces for critical reflection.
  • Build capacity of facilitators through ongoing GT-SN process and support.
  • Monthly review and reflection meeting with facilitators

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor progress and effectiveness of sessions together with MEAL Coordinator
  • Produce detailed reports on training activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all reporting and documentation.
  • Monitor 10 training sessions in each local level, ensuring the completion of 24 sessions within 9 months.

Essential Qualification and competencies:

  • Bachelor degree in gender studies, social science/work, rural development, or relevant field, with at least 4 years of demonstrated work experience with an I/NGO in the following areas.
  • GBV prevention and response programs targeted for most marginalized population and GBV prevention programme management.
  • Gender Transformative and Social Norms Programming enhancing LG and community members’ knowledge, attitude, skills and agency to prevent and respond to GBV - Gender equality, disability, and social inclusion programming.
  • LG and key stakeholders’ capacity development and participatory planning of social services (related to GBV prevention and response)
  • CBOs/CSOs capacity development and sub-granting; improving coordination in civil society space and with key community and LG/GoN stakeholders; Community engagement/participation and local government mobilization.
  • Child development framework: child protection, participation, and human rights-based approach;
  • Experience working with diverse Civil Society Organizations and their meaningful participation in inclusive governance.
  • Outstanding communications and networking skills.
  • Local language proficiency (Bhojpuri, Maithili) will be a plus. Candidates from the targeted province, women and other marginalized and minority group are encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated understanding of gender and social norms in programming.
  • Fluency in English-written and spoken.
