Pro Public, a non-profit and non-governmental organization, is looking for experienced, dynamic, self-motivated, and creative candidates for the following positions.

1. Position: Legal Officer

Duration: Initially one year with possible extension 

Location: Kathmandu

Education/Professional Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and having a license of the advocate; 
  • Experience in drafting writs on Public Interest Litigation (PIL); registration, follow-up, coordination of the writs, and attending hearings in the courts;
  • Experience in the preparation of reports; advocacy letters; management of events and so forth;   
  • Experience and willingness to support/prepare the project proposals for exploring the resources and opportunities; 
  • Coping skills to work with a diverse team and managing the responsibilities even on short notice; 
  • Strong research and Analytical skills;
  • Fluent in Nepali and English, both spoken and written;
  • Proficiency in computer use i.e. Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, email/internet, etc;
  • Skill to ride a motorbike and have a license;

2. Position: Trainee/Intern

Duration: One year (possible engagement in projects during or after tenure)  

Location: Kathmandu

Education/Professional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, sociology, rural development, gender studies or similar discipline; 
  • Willingness to support in the regular office activities; events (meetings, workshops, interactions, training, etc.) coordination, drafting letters, minutes, communication; documentation and so forth;  
  • Willingness to support/prepare/learn the project proposals for exploring the resources and opportunities; 
  • Coping skills to work with a diverse team and managing the responsibilities even on short notice; 
  • Fluent in Nepali and English, both spoken and written;  
  • Proficiency in computer use i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email/internet, Google Drive, Nepali Typing (Preeti) etc.; 
  • Priority will be given to a candidate who has a motorbike license.
