Nepal Integral Mission Society (NIMS) non-profit, non-government organization working since 2007 with the objective of improving the lives of people through income generating activities, youth empowerment, girl's empowerment, livelihood, alleviate poverty housing by providing decent shelter, work in humanitarian activities in collaboration with government and non-government organization.

NIMS is seeking qualified candidates for the following post in its field office Myaghang R.M. ward no. 6 Samari, Nuwakot. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: JTA (Junior Technician Agriculture) – 1 nos

Length of Contract: 1-year contact, renewable subject to satisfactory performance 

Location: Myaghang R.M. Ward no.6, Samari, Nuwakot with frequent travel to other project area also as per need

Job Description/Key Responsibilities:

• Work under the guidance of the Agriculture Consultant to support planning and implementing project activities related to agriculture and occupational health safety of the farmers at the community level.
• Assist in carrying out conducting training, input support and other activities.
• Maintain database and records on field-level project activities accomplishments and report to Head office.
• Assist for the timely preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual reports with targets, budget and timeframe of the field level activities.
• Regular field visit in every farmer’s house to ensure the proper farming method as per project guidelines.
• Provide technical support to farmers in implementation of the “Feed the Soil and Safe food model” technology and ensuring that all farmers prepare plant-based pesticide, fertilizer and manure.
• Collection of different data from the farmers and submit to head office.

Qualification & Experience required

• Should have completed a Junior Technical Assistant course in agriculture from a recognized institution.
• Previous experience in agriculture, marketing, community & cooperative mobilization and integrated farming with organic farming practices will be a value addition.
• Strong facilitation and good communicator of the messages to be delivered.
• Skills in coordination with the community-level stakeholders.
• Open and believes in teamwork.
• Good communication skills with fluency in Nepali and able to communicate in English.
• Basic computer knowledge (email, Word, Excel).
