ANNOUNCEMENT

Kopila-Nepal is a non-profit making, non-sectarian, non-governmental organization formally registered with District administration office of the government of Nepal in 2001 with the registration number 795. It is also affiliated to Social welfare council with affiliation number 13892 since 2003.It is one of the leading organizations dedicated towards the protection of human rights and psychosocial well – being of children, women and people with psychosocial problems. It was established by self- motivated social worker friends in 2001 with the aim of promoting life standards of destitute children.

It gives us immense pleasure to announce the Asia Kakehashi Project 2025+ by MEXT, Japan (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology)

The Asia Kakehashi Scholarship is the initiative announced by the Japanese Government back in 2017 to strengthen relations between Japan and the rest of Asia. The Program aims to heighten potential interest in Japan by promoting Bridge Building between high school students of Japan and Asia. This government-sponsored program is focused on facilitating intercultural exchange and understanding between teenagers of Japan and other Asian Countries.

Program Description:

• Invite high school students in Asia and G7 member countries to study in Japan for 5 months.
• Attend Japanese high school while staying in dormitory or with host family
• Exposure to Japanese culture, local communities and industries
• Attend international camps (twice: together with arrival/end of stay orientations) with Japanese high school students.
• The Participants take part in activities to learn about Japanese society and values, develop leadership skills, and contribute to education about their own culture and country.

Eligibility:

Applicants to the program in 2025 must meet the following criteria:

• Between 15 and 18 years of age, born after April 2, 2007 and before April 1,2010;
• Legal Citizen of Nepal.
• Obtained minimum of 60% marks in principle in all subjects in the latest examination at school and overall minimum average of 60% marks in all subjects for the past two years;
• Learners of Japanese. Participants for the Japanese speech contests are encouraged to apply and have priority for the selection.
• Demonstrate strong potential of leadership to act as a bridge between the home country and Japan during and after the program.
• Should not have participated in the ASIA KAKEHASHI program before.
• Priority will be given to students of families with low income.

Program Duration: August 2025 - December 2025
