Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996. Since then, SAHAS Nepal has been engaging in social mobilization, grassroots organisation/Community-Based Network Organisation (CBNO) formation and enhancing their capacity through partnership, and implementing diverse programme and projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture and food security, climate change, and education in 21 districts of Nepal.
SAHAS Nepal will be implementing an education project in Solukhumbu titled Community Mobilization for Inclusive and Quality Education in Solukhumbu District.The aim of the project is to enhance quality and inclusive education in public schools in Solududhkunda Municipality and ThulungDudhkoshi Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu district with community mobilisation,school environment improvement, youth development, livelihood support and capacity building approaches.
SAHAS Nepal is seeking energetic, committed and creative candidates to work on the education project aimed atenhancing the qualityof education for the following positions. The positions will be based in Solududhkunda Municipality and ThulungDudhkoshi Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu District depending on project's need.
1. Position: Project Coordinator
Required Number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in education, social science or relevant field with minimum 5 years of experience in education sector. A Master's degree with minimum 2 years' experience is preferred.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and manage complex project involving multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all level.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Knowledge of Nepal's education system and policies, learning theories, pedagogical strategies and teaching methodologies is preferred.
- Experience working in rural communities, preferably in Solukhumbu or similar geographic contexts.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead the project implementation in alignment with project goals and detailed implementation plan.
- Lead the project staff in delivering results of the project by providing coaching and capacity building sessions for project staff as required.
- Prepare annually, quarterly and monthly plansfor effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project documents.
- Working with technical service providers to implement learning programs and training materials responding towards the activities in the project.
- Managing project budgets, ensuring that expenses are within budgetary guidelines and preparing budget report for project according to funding partners’ requirement.
- Strong Coordination with local government units, education units at municipal, district and provincial levelalong with schools, teachers and other education stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery.
- Track project progress, document key activities, report challenges and best practices.
- Conduct field visits to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Represent at communities,municipal, district levels and ensure effective communication, coordination and cooperation with project partners, key development facilitators and project stakeholders.
- Facilitate community engagement to ensure program sustainability.
- Strong networking with the local government for resource sharing in project interventions for enhancing quality education in schools.
2. Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Required Number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in education, development studies, social science or relevant field with minimum 2 years of experience in education sector or development projects
- Experience with data collection and analysis tools (e.g. Kobo Toolbox, Excel, SPSS)
- Good understanding of Nepal's education system and policies.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a MEAL plan for the project to track performance and impact.
- Prepare database of the project and monitor project's progress into activities, outputs, outcomes and impact.
- Design tools for data collection, including surveys (baseline, midline andendline surveys) and feedback mechanisms and generatereports.
- Visit fields regularly to monitor project activities in schools and communities
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Support the development of Key Performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
- Document lessons learned and best practices of the project for learning, sharing and future programming in the form of case studies pictures and video documentation.
- Prepare timely reports of the project as per funding partner's requirements.
- Organise capacity building on M & E tools and methodologies as per the need of the project staff.
- Work closely with project team to ensure that impact, outcome and output level indicators are reported and monitored.
3. Position: Project Officer
Required Number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in education, development studies, social science or relevant field with minimum 2 years of experience in education sector or development projects.
- Excellent facilitation, training, and capacity building skills are expected.
- Good skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacy. Efficient Team Play.
- Good communication, analytical skills and report writing.
- Experience working in rural communities, preferably in Solukhumbu or similar geographic areas.
- Good understanding of Nepal's education system and policies.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist Project Coordinator in project implementation in line with the detailed implementation plan.
- Support teacher training, student engagement programs and capacity building initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings and workshops.
- Maintain relationship and strong coordination with local government, schools, community people, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical inputs during the preparation of promotional materials for educational activities.
- Draft monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually report, success stories and case stories and report to Project Coordinator.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor program effectiveness and identify challenges and provide recommendations for improvement.
4. Position: Social Mobiliser
Required Number: 10
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Minimum Intermediate level education, a Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies is preferred with minimum 1 year of experience in community mobilization, education, or development projects.
- Experience working in rural communities, preferably in Solukhumbu or similar geographic areas.
- Excellent facilitation, training, and capacity building skills are expected.
- Good coordination, networking and communication skills.
- Good and efficient team player.
- Report writing skills with basic computer knowledge.
Major Responsibilities
- Work closely with parents, teachers, School Management Committees, youth and local leaders to promote education and livelihoods in the community.
- Facilitate group formation and strengthening.
- Encourage community participation in educationenhancement activities.
- Support local stakeholders in addressing challenges related to school enrollment, retention, and quality of education.
- Facilitate communication between the project team, schools and the community.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess project progress and collect feedback from beneficiaries.
- Assist in data collection for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Report challenges and recommendations to the project team for timely action.
- Work closely with Project Officer and M and E officer for achieving project goals.
5. Position: Admin and Finance Officer
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- BBS or BBA Accounts with at least 2 years' experience in Finance and Administrative works.
- Excellent computer skills in Excel, Ms-Word, Power point, skills in Accounting Software
- Strong commitment to team work with effective communication skills.
- Efficient team player and can thrive under pressure.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain day to day financial accounts and financial management.
- Prepare clear accurate financial information with sufficient documents in compliance with the financial policies of the government, funding partner and the organization.
- Manage procurement related responsibilities.
- Financial reporting, analysis, monitoring and follow-up of project activities.
- Day to day management of logistic and administration.
- Handle the project account.
- Prepare and plan for the budget for the project implementation.
- Maintain safety and security of the project assets and stock, and keep records of personal files, tax, Social Security Fund and other salary related information of the respective project.
