Nepal National Social Welfare Association (NNSWA) established itself in 1990. In 1994, NNSWA registered with the District Administration Office Kanchanpur and affiliated to Social Welfare Council Kathmandu. NNSWA has grown over the years, implementing various integrated community based development programs in Far Western Region being one of the leading development organizations in the Sudur Paschim Province of Nepal. NNSWA has 107 General Members who constitute the General Assembly of NNSWA. 11 members of this General Assembly constitute an Executive Committee. Executive Members are elected by the General assembly for a term of 5 years. The Executive Committee has 6 Office Bearers (President, Vice-president, General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-treasurer) and 5 Executive Members. 40% of General Assembly and Executive Committee members are female. NNSWA has its district chapters at Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Darchula districts and other district NNSWA helping committee are existed and providing services in all 9 districts within the Sudur Paschim Province, Nepal. The Executive Committee is the legally constituted body responsible for providing strategic and policy direction to the organization. NNSWA has its own office building having sufficient rooms and training hall at Bheemdatt Municipality-18 in Kanchanpur district.

NNSWA has been actively working with various community development projects in Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal for more than three decades. It has significant years of experience working in the sector of DRRM/CCA and humanitarian response, Education, Health, Livelihoods, HIV and AIDS, Nutrition, Physical Rehabilitation Services for the People with Disability along, Stop Leprosy with other development sectors and has been closely working with different funding partners and all level of the government.
NNSWA in partnership with Mercy Corps is implementing the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance (ZCRA) program in vulnerable communities of Dodhara Chandani & Krishnapur Municipality in Sudurpaschim Province. The Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance (ZCRA) is an alliance of nine organizations including international NGOs, private sector, and academic organizations, who have come together with the support of the Zurich Foundation to drive better policy and practice to reduce the negative impact of multi-Hazards (floods and heatwaves) on peoples’ and communities’ ability to thrive. The Alliance finished its first phase in 2018, second phase in Dec 2023 and third phase will run till Dec 2027. During this time, the Alliance will take a system approach and implement a combination of pilot programs, research, knowledge management and work to influence community donors, policy makers, and practitioners to invest in climate resilience through:
- Strengthened DRRM and CCA governance in Province and Local Level.
- Increased financing Government’s financing on DRRM and CCA at all levels of government.
- Enhanced Private Sector’s role in supporting DRRM and CCA efforts.
1. Position: Project Coordinator
Required No. (1) One
Base Station: NNSWA Office, Kanchanpur (Frequently Visit to Project Municipalities)
1.1 GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities to achieve project outcomes and outputs. The role involves coordinating with local governments, (Krishnapur & Dodhara Chandani Municipality), communities, and stakeholders to promote heat and flood preparedness and climate adaptation, while ensuring project compliances and agreement. The Project Coordinator is responsible for mobilizing Project Support Officers and Knowledge Management & MEL Officer for effective implementation, documentation of project activities in Dodhara Chandani, and Krishnapur Municipalities, in Kanchanpur district and Sudurpaschim Province.
1.2 Required Qualifications and Experience:
a. Academic Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferred Master’s degree) in social science or development studies in the field relevant to Project Coordinator. At least 5 years of proven experience working with Civil Society Organization or related in the field of Advocacy, DRRM and CCA sector.
b. Sector Knowledge, Skills & competency:
- Sound knowledge and experience of working in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation issue in all tiers of government mainly in Kanchanpur district and Sudurpaschim Province
- Excellent multistakeholder engagement skills with ability to foster collaboration among various government, non-government agencies, communities and private sector.
- Experience of managing advocacy and influencing initiatives and sound understanding of system change, research and knowledge management.
- Sound knowledge of Project Planning, guiding Employees and Coordination and collaboration among the local government.
- Excellent ability for team building, community mobilization with sound coordination and communication skills.
- Experience of providing capacity building training and orientations to diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

2. Position: Knowledge Management & MEL Officer

2.1 GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Knowledge Management & MEL Officer is responsible for leading and identifying needs, producing knowledge products including research, case studies, impact briefs etc. to drive evidence based influencing aligning to influencing strategy of the project. S/he will be responsible for processing documentation, designing and implementing the monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework for the project in Sudurpaschim aligning to the project’s overall Knowledge & MEL framework plan of the project enabling informed and evidence-based decision making. Additionally, the position involves fostering coordination with local governments and other stakeholders, ensuring effective learning, outcome harvesting and collecting, analyzing and managing relevant data for project management and influencing. The officer will lead community accountability and response mechanism/ feedback mechanism and strengthening of the institutional accountability system for the project.
2.2 Required Qualifications and Experiences:
a. Academic Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferred Master Degree) in social science or development studies in the field relevant to MEL & Knowledge Management. At least 3 years of proven experience working with Civil Society Organization or related in the field of Knowledge management, MEL or MEAL (monitoring, evaluation accountability and learning) sector.
b. Sector Knowledge, Skills & competency:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of knowledge management and influence mainly in DRR and CCA
- Good understanding of DRR and CCA policies and practices in Nepal, particularly in Sudurpaschim Province
- Knowledge of developing and implementing Knowledge, MEAL/M&E plan and logical framework
- Demonstrated skills on research and media mobilizations
- Sound knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection methodologies and data analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills include presentation and reporting skills.
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills, with proficiency in tools like SPSS, R, or Power BI.

3. Position: Admin & Finance Officer

Base Station: NNSWA Office, Kanchanpur
3.1 GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Admin and Finance Officer is a key position within NNSWA’s Central Office. The role is responsible for project administration, financial management, and logistics (budgeting, accounting, expenditure tracking, inventory reporting, etc.). Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director and monitoring by the Project Coordinator, the Finance and Procurement Officer ensures sound financial systems and processes for the organization. The position is also responsible for all procurement-related activities, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, particularly MCN-funded projects. The officer will support the ED and PC in overall financial management. The Admin & Finance Officer will ensure a functional, effective & efficient accounting & financial system and timely preparation and submission of reports to funding partners. Admin/Finance Officer will be working closely with organization’s Finance and Project Team to run the smooth operations of accounting and Logistic management.
3.2 Required qualifications and experience:
a. Academic Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, commerce and working experience in the field relevant to admin and financial management. At least 3 years of proven experience working with Civil Society Organization or related in the field of admin and financial management.
b. Sector Knowledge, Skills & competency:
- Knowledge Admin and Financial Management
- Sound knowledge of qualitative financial documentation and reporting
- Handling accounting software (FAMAS)
- Computer and Technology literacy; Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,

4. Position: Field Based Project Support Officer

Base Station: Field of Dodhara Chandani and Krishnapur
4.1 Role and Responsibility of Field Based Project Support Officer
Field based Project Support Officer will support the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of project activities at the community & Palika level, besides independently lead influencing initiatives at ward level . This role ensures that project interventions, particularly related to disaster risk reduction (DRR), Climate change adaptation (CCA) are executed effectively while engaging local stakeholders and communities. Additionally, the position involves fostering coordination with local governments and other stakeholders, ensuring efficient budget utilization, and support to timely implementation of planned activities implement CRC intervention in the Municipalities.
4.2 Required qualifications and experience:
a. Academic Qualifications and Experience:
- At least bachelor’s level in social science/development/relevant studies or +2 with at least 3 years of experience, and ability to report in both Nepali and English.
b. Sector Knowledge, Skills and Competency
- Strong community mobilization skills.
- Proven experience (minimum at least 3 years) in community development, disaster risk reduction and management, climate change adaptation, livelihood, advocacy and other related fields.
- Capacity to independently lead influencing initiatives at ward level Proven field report writing skills with ability to report both in Nepali & English
- Ability to work at pace across multiple work streams.
- Strong management and social mobilization skills (REFLECT).
- Excellent ability to work across cultures, time zones and disciplines with a wide range of stakeholders.
