Introduction:
Regimental Duty Staff (RDS) is a vital department of British Gurkhas Pokhara (BGP), responsible for the physical security of the British Gurkhas Nepal (BGN) camp in Pokhara. Working in small teams in a shift system, RDS provides physical security to serving personnel, families, VIP visitors, and property of BGP. During periods of Gurkha selection, the RDS provide crowd-control, and continue to guard the camp in teams to the highest standards. Following MoD and BGN Security best practices and protocols, they perform ethical security duty of the highest standards.

This position is advertised at 40 hours per week in shift system.
Job description:
- Control of camp access in and out.
- Issue keys to authorised personnel and keep a record.
- Be able to operate the CCTV system and identify any potential security risks.
- Provide the fire piquet for helicopter landings.
- Conduct personnel and vehicle search where required as dictated by the threat/response levels.
- Provide enhanced security services during Gurkha selection.
- Be prepared to support the camp’s Standard Chartered Bank counter when required.
- Be prepared to form part of a quick reaction force to react to intruders or natural disasters.
- Escort visitor when required.
- Checking and maintaining of security Equipment’s. Such as radio, fire alarm, CCTV cameras, lock systems.
- Monitor VHF radio and response appropriately.

What you will be doing:
Responsibilities:
- To follow all the Health & Safety rules while performing duty.
- To conduct personnel and vehicle searches and issue entry passes.
- To provide perimeter fence security by patrolling day or night and report any suspicious activities.
- To ensure all offices/buildings are secured and report any defects to Line Manager.
- Enforcing company or property policies such as visitor policy or restricted area is to maintain.
- Enforce rules and regulations of the camp to all visitors.
- Emergency response during off hours.
- Incident and accident reporting and documentations.
- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Line Manager.

You must have:
- Good written/spoken English; and excellent Nepali language skills.
- Proven security guard experience and training is essential for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently with good sense of customer service.
- 3 years’ experience with SLC/SEE education is preferred.
- You will be assessed on your English language skills and Security/Physical Test to qualify for interviews during the sifting and selection process.

- Salary 66,242.00 NPR per month (Permanent).

Security Check:
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is a Govt of Nepal Police Report for employment in Nepal.
