Project Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to oversee a groundbreaking initiative aimed at building the capacity of indigenous women in Dang and Makwanpur, Nepal. This project will focus on increasing women's awareness of their rights, providing training and resources to access housing, and advocating for policy changes to support women's land and housing ownership.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Implementation: 
    • Assist the Executive Director and Director of Impact and Innovation to develop and implement a detailed project plan, including timelines, budgets, and performance indicators.
    • Oversee the development and delivery of training programs on land and housing rights, resource access, and disaster-resilient construction.
    • Coordinate with local partners, government officials, and community members to ensure project success.
  • Financial Management: 
    • Manage and record the project budget, ensuring funds are utilized efficiently and effectively.
    • Monitor expenditures and prepare financial reports.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: 
    • Work with the Director of Impact and Innovation to develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track project progress and impact.
    • Collect and analyze data to measure outcomes and inform decision-making.
    • Prepare regular progress reports for the project team and donors.
  • Team Management: 
    • Lead and mentor a team of field staff, trainers, and volunteers.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Advocacy and Partnership Building: 
    • Work with our partner organizations to advocate for policies and programs that support women's land and housing rights.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, NGOs, and community-based organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, international development, rural development or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the field of international development.
  • Strong understanding of and concern for gender equity and human rights.
  • Beneficial but not required: Experience in designing and implementing training programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in English and Nepali.
  • Highly self-driven as well as a team player.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote areas in Nepal.

Compensation

Term, Hours & Location

  • This is a hybrid position, working from home as well as in-person with our Nepal-based team. 
  • Candidate residing in Dang or Kathmandu Valley is preferred. 
  • Required hours average 30 per week with some weeks being more, and some less.
  • Contract term is 9 months, with a 60 day trial period, and possibility for extension of employment.
