Introduction:

Pest Controller will work under the British Gurkhas Nepal, Pokhara BGN(P), QM (Quarter Master’s) dept and will be responsible for Pest Control of the entire British Gurkhas Nepal, Pokhara BGN(P) camp and Military Quarters.   He/she should possess the right training, skills and experience in the field of Pest Control and to provide services up to a British Standard independently and in accordance with Ministry of Defence and BGN policy and protocol.

This position is advertised at 40 hours per week.

Job description:

  • Responsible for spraying insecticides/pesticides daily; Swing fog as required and ensure that it is correctly and routinely done.
  • Responsible to maintain and servicing of all pest control equipment's as per the regulation and ensure correct accounting/storing of all insecticides/pesticides is carried out.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the Swing fog machine, Sprayer, Stores, and report to the Operation Manager for any issues/damages.
  • Responsible for using insecticide in all areas of the camp to control insects.
  • Liaise with the SHEP (Safety Health Environment Practitioner) regarding all Pest Control matters.
  • Responsible for account, control and safe storage of pesticides, insecticides in the Pest Control store.

What you will be doing:

Responsibilities:

  • During monsoon season, make sure that each drain filled with water is managed using proactive pest control measures.
  • Assist the Operation Manager as required and during various social events.
  • May require deployment to Surkhet/Dharan during Phase I Recruiting.
  • Upkeep of the store, proper accounting/storage of insecticides/pesticides.
  • Maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist the EHT (Environment Health team) for the Inspection.

You must have:

  • Good written and spoken English/Nepali language skills.
  • You should have adequate knowledge of different pesticides/ chemicals.
  • You must hold a Nepali Pest Control Certificate/License, be IT literate and desired experience, skills, and training in related field.
  • Proven experience, qualifications, and training is required for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently.
  • You will be assessed on your Health and Safety at work, knowledge, and Physical fitness to qualify for interviews during the sifting and selection process.
  • Candidates with minimum of Secondary Education (SLC/SEE) with good standard of English language, relevant experience/skills and training are required to provide the standard service.

  • Salary 66,242.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
