Organizational Overview:

Rural Self-reliance Development Centre (RSDC), a non-profit making and non-governmental organization affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, was registered in 1991 with the Kathmandu District Administration Office under the Social Organizations Registration Act 2034 BS (1977 AD). It has been promoting and implementing the idea of Swabalamban as a conceptual and programmatic tool for catalyzing and revitalizing the hope, aspirations as well as capabilities of the poor and oppressed households over the past three decades.

Rural Self-reliance Development Centre (RSDC) in partnership with Malteser International with financial support from Germain Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is implementing the Womenenpreneurs4Plastic project in Ward No. 2 of Budhanilkantha Municipality of Kathmandu district. The project aims to contribute to protecting ecosystem and livelihoods, improving human and animal health, and women's empowerment. RSDC invites applications from qualified and experienced individuals for the position below.

Salary: 50,000 above

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Studies, Social Work, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. Additional certifications or training in business development or sustainability practices will be a plus.
• Minimum of 2 year of professional experience in business development within enterprise building projects. Previous experience in the waste management sector will be considered a significant advantage.
• Residents of Budhanilkantha municipality will get additional advantage.
• Two wheelers license is required.

Major Responsibilities:

• Create and implement effective business and marketing strategies for the waste collection and recycling sectors, aligned with long-term goals and sustainability practices.
• Regularly review and update the business and financial plans for the waste collection and recycling initiatives, ensuring they adapt to evolving market conditions and organizational needs.
• Cultivate and maintain partnerships with businesses across the recycling supply chain, strengthening the cooperative's network and operational capacity.
• Lead the design and execution of campaigns such as eco-school programs, exhibitions, conferences, and the celebration of relevant international days, focusing on waste collection and recycling awareness.
• Collaborate on the development of new recycled products, informed by comprehensive market research and consumer demand trends.
• Identify and establish contracts with potential clients for the sale of recycled products, maximizing revenue streams and expanding the cooperative’s customer base.
• Assist the cooperative in evaluating business plans from green businesses applying for financial loans, ensuring they meet the cooperative’s criteria and are aligned with sustainability goals.
• Assist in the promotion of green businesses funded by the cooperative, enhancing visibility and market reach through strategic marketing efforts.
• Actively search for relevant funding opportunities and prepare applications for grants, loans, or other financial resources that align with the project’s goals and the cooperative’s needs.
• Prepare detailed reports for campaigns, trainings, and events, tracking their success and providing insights for improvement.
• Produce regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring that all business development activities align with organizational objectives and are documented in a clear and concise manner.
