The Why: NEPAL aspires to graduate from least developing country to a lower middle-income country by 2026. The How: DAAYITWA, with a focus on economic empowerment, envisions an enterprising Nepal where every youth has opportunities for a prosperous future. Daayitwa is a part of the Daayitwa Abhiyaan which consists of four organizations: Daayitwa, Governance Lab, Nepal Leadership Academy based in Nepal and Nepal Rising (Daayitwa-US) based in the U.S. Inspired by shared values of innovation, collaboration, and service, it promotes the socio- economic development of Nepal. The movement fosters inclusive and equitable economic growth by accelerating grassroots innovations, strengthening government institutions, and revitalizing a virtuous cycle of democracy and development through grassroots-government collaboration.

Growth Entrepreneurship and Employment Promotion (GEEP) Program

GEEP accelerates rural enterprises for boosting employment and income growth in rural Nepal. GEEP is executed through a partnership among Daayitwa, Gandaki and Koshi provincial governments, 10 local governments and the Nepali diaspora. GEEP’s objectives are to accelerate growth-oriented rural enterprises, build state capability for effective policy implementation  and foster stakeholder collaboration for governance innovation. GEEP builds on Daayitwa’s decade-long experience in governance innovation and accelerating growth-oriented enterprises in rural Nepal to create jobs and amplify income through the Rural Enterprise Acceleration Program (REAP).

Responsibilities:

As a GEEP Province Assistant, you will support the Province Coordinator in implementing GEEP activities across assigned municipalities in Koshi (Ramdhuni Municipality, Gauradaha Municipality, Fakphokthum Rural Municipality, Pauwadungma Rural Municipality, Aiselukharka Rural Municipality) and Gandaki (Jaljala Municipality, Hupsekot Municipality, Badigad Municipality, Siranchok Municipality, Myagde Municipality). Key duties include:

  • Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and field visits, including logistics, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Maintain records of project activities, stakeholder communications, and financial transactions.
  • Draft and compile routine reports, minutes, and correspondence.
  • Support the Province Coordinator in monitoring field activities, data collection, and progress tracking.
  • Help coordinate capacity-building sessions for entrepreneurs and local stakeholders.
  • Assist in liaising with municipal/provincial governments, NGOs, and private sector partners.
  • Accompany the team on field visits to document outcomes, gather feedback, and troubleshoot logistical challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Daayitwa communications team to collect success stories, photos, and impact metrics.
  • Help manage social media updates and community outreach in coordination with the Province Coordinator.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and donor guidelines.
  • Participate in project evaluations and learning sessions to share insights.
  • Foster a productive and supportive environment for team members to learn, grow, and contribute effectively to the program’s impact.
  • Contribute to the design and development of business and entrepreneurship tools and methodologies for enterprise acceleration.
  • Perform other duties (even related to other Daayitwa Abhiyaan projects) as assigned by Daayitwa Senior Management

Requirement:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • Experience: 1–2 years in administrative/program support roles, preferably in entrepreneurship, rural development, or governance projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data entry, and basic financial reporting.
    • Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English (written and spoken).
    • Ability to work in a team and adapt to dynamic environments.

Additional information

Compensation: Daayitwa will provide compensation on a monthly rate basis. The rate will be mutually agreed upon, commensurate with the level of the required deliverables, the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
