Frontend Developer ( Web GIS & Interactive Mapping)

We’re looking for a Frontend Developer for the front-end design implementation of applications, games, and websites, and the overall user experience. We are looking for someone who delivers high quality results without needing to be micromanaged. And of course, a passion for creating impact with the design and development of  technology data driven solutions. 

Job Specification

• Education Level: Bachelors in Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering or relevant field.

• Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience.

• Salary: Based on Experience. 

Required Technical Skills

1. At least 2-3 years of professional experience working with ReactJS, with at least 5+ completed projects. 

2. Hands-on experience in integrating the React app with Restful APIs. 

3. Should be comfortable with state management libraries like React Router, Redux.

4. Good understanding of several of the most commonly used javascript libraries.

5. HTML, CSS, and SASS are all useful skills to have.

6. Working knowledge of Git and Workflow.

7. An understanding of server-side rendering difficulties, SPA experience.

8. Data Visualization Experience - (D3 JS or any other libraries).

9. Experience with the ES-6.

10. It will be a bonus if you are familiar with mapping libraries such as Leaflet JS, Open layers or Mapbox.

11. Working knowledge of Typescript will be a bonus.

12. Experience with Node JS and API development will be advantageous.

Required Human Skills 

1. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali

2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

3. You should be able to achieve outcomes with broad guidance.

4. You should be comfortable with flexible work arrangements, and working with a team dispersed across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities for this Role

• Develop high quality frontend codes

• Code reviews

• Work with the product owner and rest of team members to achieve the goal

• Grow team around you

• Be a key part of the success of the project

• Develop new components and features for our frontend app(s)

• Document and refactor our frontend codebase

• Profile and improve our front-end performance

• Develop map functionalities in frontend with guidance from Sr. Web GIS Developer

• Work with various third-party libraries and plugins to achieve project requirements

• Maintain project status and code using GIT

• Apply the Agile Development approach in your day to day tasks

• Participate in scrum meetings, team meetings and report the development status regularly.
