1. Position: Finance Assistant

Reports to: Finance Officer

Location: Bishal Nagar, Kathmandu, Nepal

Salary: NRs. 25,000 per month in gross

Contract Type: Full-Time

Rural Health and Education Service Trust (RHEST) is a women-led, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and children in rural Nepal. Established in 1993, RHEST focuses on preventing girl trafficking, child marriage, and exploitation by promoting education and health initiatives. We are committed to advancing gender equality, improving maternal and child health, and combating malnutrition in rural communities.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our financial operations. The Finance Assistant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with daily transactions, and ensuring compliance with RHEST’s financial policies. The candidate will have a strong knowledge in accounting and finance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices, receipts, and vouchers.
  • Support the Finance Officer in managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure that they are properly recorded in the system.
  • Provide administrative support for financial audits.
  • Ensure compliance with RHEST’s financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with payroll processing and staff expense reimbursements.
  • Support in managing petty cash transactions and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with program teams to track project budgets and expenditures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience in an NGO or non-profit organization is an added advantage.

2. Position: MIS Assistant

Reports to: Senior MIS Officer

Location: Bishal Nagar, Kathmandu, Nepal

Salary: NRs. 28,000 per month in gross

Contract Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

The MIS Assistant will work closely with the MIS team ensuring the effective management and utilization of information systems as well as system database. This role typically involves data collection, analysis, report generation, and maintaining efficient system documentation to enhance data integrity and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

The responsibility of the MIS Assistant includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in designing, developing, updating, and maintaining database management systems, monitoring tools, and data collection tools/templates.
  • Create Google/Microsoft forms to gather data from various sources like programs, surveys, and other resources.
  • Ensure data is collected on time and of high quality by regularly following up with stakeholders.
  • Create basic reports, dashboards, or visualizations to summarize the results.
  • Monitor data quality to ensure it remains accurate and reliable and update the database as needed and ensure the data is secure and accessible.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience and qualification:

  • At least Intermediate Level in the relevant field. A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least one year in data management is preferable.
  • Skilled in Excel techniques and functions.
  • Ability to organize and manage large amounts of data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
