Rural Education and Environment Development Centre (REED Nepal) was established in 2000 AD as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with a motto "quality education is our commitment". It was established to consolidate the Teacher Training Programmes carried out by the Himalayan Trust New Zealand (also known as Hillary Himalayan Trust NZ). REED Nepal has been following the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary in the Mount Everest Region and the Himalayan region since its establishment. Currently, it has been working with 800 community schools, 4000 teachers, 88000 children and 80,000 community members across 26 districts of Nepal.

REED Nepal has been working with a prime focus on education development and environmental sustainability. It adopts a holistic approach for ensuring quality and inclusive education in rural community schools in Nepal and contributes to environment development and sustainability with the principle of collaboration, coordination and partnership at the local level. The organisation works to strengthen quality education in Basic level of community schools, along with school management and governance, capacity enhancement of teachers, provides remedial teaching support and alternative education support, school infrastructural development, supports in mainstreaming Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), and intervenes in school based DRR. REED Nepal has its funding partnership with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australian Himalayan Foundation (AHF), Himalayan Trust UK (HTUK), Karuna Trust UK, Karuna Deutschland Ev., and BMZ German, Japan Fund for Global Environment (JFGE), Nepal Australian Friendship Association (NAFA), USAID Early Grade Learning and So REED Nepal is committed to child safeguarding and protection against sexual abuse and harassment (PSEAH).

Position: Finance and Operation Manager (Prefer for Female Candidate)

Location: Central Office, Kathmandu 

Direct reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Matrix Reporting: Program Director 

Required Skill, Knowledge, Experiences and Qualifications

Master in business administration, finance, accounting, management and other relevant fields

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including 3 years in a management position as senior management / leader supervising a team working with I/NGOs
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing financial operations, including budgeting, fund allocation, and preparing detailed financial reports that meet organizational and donor requirements.
  • Extensive experience in overseeing procurement processes, coordinating logistics, and managing administrative operations to ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor guidelines.
  • Proven track record in managing HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee development, and implementation of HR policies to support organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience in financial management of complex development projects and donor funding.
  • Proficient in financial management with expertise in utilizing advanced management tools and software applications such as FAMAS, or similar programs.
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing software, and internet-based tools for efficient and accurate data management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Nepal's financial and tax regulations, particularly those relevant to non-governmental and not-for-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of the countries lab our law and local legislation related to administration
