Job Title: Field Supervisor – Education (3 positions) – SIKAI Project
1. Project Description:
SIKAI Project is an inclusive education project in Baglung working in two municipalities i.e. Jaimini Municipality and Kanthekhola Rural Municipality. The project is working in 60 schools and now planning to work in other remaining 66 schools targeting to reach 8510 students of Grade 1 – 5 along with their parents, headteachers, schoolteachers, SMC/PTA members. This project aims to collaborate with local governments in providing access to quality education across Baglung district and increase in the children’s enrollment at schools, learning achievement of children, retention, attainment, and transition to the higher grades.
The project is looking for an energetic and experienced field supervisor to coordinate and implement the school and community-level activities in the project schools of Jaimini and Kathekhola Rural/Municipalities. This position is field based and will be responsible for day-to-day work to coordinate, supervise, mobilize the Big Sisters and Community Youth Volunteer Network for an effective implementation of school and community level activities. She/he should mentor and coach Big Sisters and community volunteers as required to support on the project deliverables in the field. She/he works in close coordination with Mayors/Chairpersons and executive members of Palika, local government officials, HTs and SMC/PTA, and parents.
2. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination with local government, teachers, SMC/PTA, parents to achieve the project goal.
- Responsible for implementation of planned activities in an effective manner.
- Prepare activity progress reports.
- Provide feedback and take immediate notice of and resolve any problems arising in the field.
- Plan and prepare requirements for the field level activities.
- Sensitize stakeholders and establish good relation.
- Coordinate with Big sisters (community volunteers), National Volunteers and supervise all field level activities and plan for field validation to ensure completeness of the planned activities.
- Train and support big sisters (community volunteers) as needed.
- Compile and submit monthly and quarterly reports.
- Any other duty not listed but assigned by the supervisor.
3. Required Skills:
- Liaise with local government, big sisters (community volunteers) and project management teams to ensure timely implementation of planned activities.
- Having good communication skill to act as the focal person of communication between field and district office.
- Provide leadership to on-site staff like big sisters and other stakeholders (parents/teachers/students etc).
- Proven experience supervising field operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
- Excellent analytical and convincing skill.
- Good team player and having good understanding and knowledge of the local situation and of the community dynamics
- High level integrity
4. Required Experience and Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education or social science with two years of work experience in the related field
- Strong communication skills and should have a positive learning attitude.
- Good reporting skills and Self-motivated ability to work alone/team and in remote area
- Holder of 2-wheeler driving license (optional).
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali language.
- Excellent presentation/representation skill.
- Good Command, dynamic and leadership skills.
- Good report writing skills.
