Rural Women Development and Unity Center (RUWDUC) has been lending a voice to women, children, and youth since its establishment in 1995. RUWDUC aims to promote the well-being of humanity and ensure equality for all, including access to education, healthcare, justice, and a violence-free society. Aligning with its vision and Mission, the RUWDUC in partnership with Oxfam in Nepal and coordination with the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS) has been implementing, the “Pilot Project on Watershed Management and Development Plan: Generating a Replicable Watershed Management Model (Watershed Project)” from April 2024 to March 2025 with its focus in Rangoon watershed of Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. 

RUWDUC invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) seeking consultancy services from an individual or consulting firm. The consultancy will involve updating the web portal with data collected on detailed mapping of water resources, water-use conflicts, and water accounting in Rangoon Watershed from another activity of the project (Watershed Database Development) and enhancing the capacity of Basin, Province, and Municipality officers. 

The interested individual or consulting form should have the following qualifications and experiences;

  • The consultant should indicate a dedicated team for this service that must comprise a team leader, full stack developer, and GIS officer. 
  • Experience in successfully delivering similar projects involving the development of web-based online GIS mapping.
  • Knowledge of geospatial concepts, generating maps, and using open-source GIS resources 
  • Familiarity with mapping libraries and experience with spatial database management. 
  • Understanding of the specific whole environment of web-based online mapping portals with various levels of users and the interconnectedness of these domains.
  • Familiarity with the concept of watershed and their management approaches.
  • Experience in conducting training and capacity-building activities.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with municipalities and government agencies.
  • Familiarity with the project area (Rangoon Watershed, Sudurpashchim Province)
