Introduction

With a vision of “A world where every child is safe, educated and loved”, Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj (KVSS) established in 2007, is a non-governmental, apolitical, and not for profit organization. Our mission is to change the world by empowering Nepal's children. We do this by providing quality education, a safe environment, and through inspiring others while putting the children first, strengthening families and our communities. Most at-risk and disadvantaged children are provided with inclusive quality education at Kopila Valley School (KVS), one of the greenest schools in Nepal, made from the rammed earth and nestled on a campus with a commitment to building sustainable programs. Along with the lifelong gift of education to the disadvantaged children, we support their family members to improve their living standards and make it sustainable through holistic programs ranging from children’s home, health and wellness through women empowerment to career guidance/counseling, and scholarships support for further studies.

Futures program at Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj strives to “prepare each child for independence and self-sufficiency through guidance counseling, career education programming, higher education scholarships, as well as life skills workshops and transitional housing for students living at the children’s home”. The Futures program has a diverse program which plans, develops and implements professional and life skill workshops to provide students and alumni with the tools and life skills they need to be physically, emotionally, and financially well-adjusted and well-prepared adults. Diverse training and workshops are prepared to support students within the school and outside for alumni working with Kopila Valley Alumni Association for helping them make informed decisions regarding their academic and professional futures. In addition to that, the futures program provides scholarship opportunities for Kopila Valley School students for +2/Diploma level education who have graduated from Kopila Valley School in good standing.

With these goals and activities in mind, the futures program and Kopila valley school is planning to develop a makerspace for the students at KVS. The makerspace would be a collaborative workspace within Kopila Valley School with separate facility for making, learning, exploring and sharing high, low or no tech tools to strengthen, promote and engage students towards STEAM learning and innovative initiatives. Submission Deadline: The last date of submission of EoI is 7 December 2024.

Terms

The consultant will abide by the relevant organizational policy procedures alongside a code of conduct. He/she will ensure the deliverables agreed upon within timelines.

Documents to be submitted

The link of application form for the EOI- Submission forms is attached here. The file is available only in viewer format. Interested applicants are requested to download the form and complete the necessary process. Food, accommodation and logistics are inclusive of the proposed fees and the organization will not bear any expenses related to it.
