"A world where every child is safe, educated and loved" KVS is a nonprofit school managed by the Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj, an NGO registered in Surkhet, Nepal, and funded by BlinkNow Foundation USA to provide world-class education to the neediest children who deserve the best education.  Our mission is to change the world by empowering Nepal’s children. We provide our students with free education, educational materials, health treatment and medicine, counseling, and a place to live. With our innovative future program, we strive to provide our children with career guidance, and scholarships for further studies. 

Kopila Valley school is going to enhance the qualitative and comprehensive education system at school. For the service, KVS is seeking consultants which have impactable experience on government EGRP concept and comprehensive teaching-learning environment assessment, including Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) and Early Grade Math Assessment (EGMA), plays a crucial role in evaluating the quality of education at the school level. These assessments help determine students' foundational literacy and numeracy skills, which are essential for their overall academic development. The process involves careful preparation of tools and techniques to ensure reliable and valid results. These tools, such as assessments, observation guides, and surveys, must be tailored to the specific needs of the school context and the learners. Data collection through these tools provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of teaching strategies, curriculum implementation, and student engagement. Once collected, the data undergoes a rigorous analysis to identify patterns, strengths, and areas for improvement in both teaching practices and student learning outcomes. 

Deliverables:

• Orient the teachers on EGMA and Remedial and Accelerated Learning (ReAL)
• Train enumerators/teachers on implementing tools
• In collaboration with the KVS team, participate in baseline, formative, and summative assessments to assess reading and comprehension over time (Math, English, and Nepali Skills)
• Train the KVS teachers in Mathematics Teaching Reinforce 14 best practices of math education, as iterated in “Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics” Grades K-12
• Share draft findings for Using appropriate Excel data sheets, and KVS software, train teachers in inputting assessment data, analyzing data, and using data for targeted instructional improvement (e.g. volume of geometric shapes)., analyze data, and present that with the org. leadership.
• Train teachers in preparing and sharing student assessment data and sharing the report with concerned subject teachers, management, and leadership.
• Assess the progress at the end of the academic year
• Learning review and iteration of the action plan

Expected outcomes:

• Conduct EGRA, EGMA and ReAL in their regular classroom curriculum-based tools and techniques while teaching
• Prepare annual action plan and Accelerate comprehensive teaching techniques of the teachers in English, Nepali and Math.
• Collect data in the academic format, analyze data and evaluate the data and conduct internal assessment of the academic achievement for teachers.
• Forecast the assessment result and collect the feedback and learnings.

Mandatory Requirements for Pre-Qualification:

• Consultants should have a university degree in education, social science, statistics and other relevant subjects.
• At least 5 years of professional working experience in teaching and learning assessment.
• Proven experience in EGRP related.
• Having knowledge and facilitation skills and assessment skills at all school levels.
• High level of knowledge on gender-based violence, especially in School Related GBV.
• Excellent report writing skills in both English and Nepali
• Capability of working independently and remotely.
• Familiar with current government provisions, policy, and guidelines on EGRP, EGRL, EGRA, EGMA.
• Good judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Good team player and facilitator.

7. A copy of PAN/VAT registration (for both firms and individuals)
8. A copy of the current fiscal year’s tax clearance (for firms only)
