CONTEXT AND PROJECT SUMMARY
1. Background
Welfare Association for Children Tikapur (WACT) in partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) has been working in Kailali district since 2013 mainly focusing on improving the well-being of children in need, especially the most vulnerable. WACT have been working with an integrated approach, working alongside local government its formal structures and communities to tackle the root causes of poverty and create sustainable change/wellbeing of children by measuring following indicators and outcomes. We believe that the children should have the opportunities to:
- Enjoy Good Health - Making sure children and families are well-nourished, protected from infection and disease, and have access to essential health services.
- Be educated for life - Giving children opportunities to learn and develop their talents, equipping young people for the future, and bringing families and communities together to support children’s education.
- Feel Loved and Valued – Ensuring Children enjoy positive relationships with peers, family, and community members.
- Be cared for, protected, and participating - Ensuring Boys and girls are safe and well cared for by their families, and are participating in their communities as agents of transformation.
2. Specific objectives
- To promote accountability and encourage community stakeholders and local government to take greater responsibility for the wellbeing of children.
- To help community stakeholders to understand Sponsorship approach and how it works in the community for child well-being.
- To mobilize radio/FM to highlight and address issues related to child rights, child wellbeing, and child protection by facilitate dialogue between service providers and service receivers at single forum to discuss existing conditions and challenges related to child issues.
- To ensure effective implementation of policies, guidelines and structures related to children.
3. Desired Qualification of Consultant:
- The lead consultant should have at least Bachelor degree in relevant subject. The certificate relevant to journalism will be an additional asset.
- The organization/ individual consultant should have previous experience of conducting similar type of interaction program at community level or with the Local government and other organizations.
- Work experience in the Child Protection sector at grassroots level is advantageous.
- Sound knowledge on GBV, GESI, and child protection issues particularly in Kailali district.
- Good facilitation, analytical and reporting skill.
Language skills: Proven proficiency in Nepali and local language.

Interested applicants who meet the required conditions are invited to submit e-copy of expression of interest including financial and technical proposal (Separate file) outlining methodology, content and work plan. In the Quotation form, the eligible individuals/consultancy firms are expected to include consultancy service fee inclusive of any other cost. CVs of Consultant should be submitted along with the technical proposal no later than 5 January 2025.
Note: The organization may establish a 1-year Long Term Agreement (LTA) with the selected consultancy. The events may be conducted on January to June 2025 in Kailali.
