Position: Enumerator for Reinforcing wasting care and prevention in Nepal Phase II
NTAG – An Introduction
The NTAG is a non – profit organization passionate about long term solutions and impactful projects addressing nutrition and health challenges. NTAG focuses primary on improving the nutrition and health of children, adolescents, and women in Nepal. Established in early 1996 to support the National Vitamin A Project, NTAG has become a leading technical support group for the Ministry of Health and Population, assisting in the implementation of community-based health and nutrition programs.
Project Description
In coordination with the Nutrition Section, Family Welfare Division of the Department of Health Services, strategic partner NTAG, and ACF are planning to conduct "Access and Coverage Survey" to assess factors affecting access to and utilization of essential health services in Bagmati, Madhesh, and Karnali Provinces. This survey will include a component of anthropometric measurement and interview. The field research results will provide evidence to address relevant issues, informing the revision or update of protocols and technical guidance of Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM).
Job Summary
NTAG, in partnership with ACF, seeks highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to serve as Enumerators for the anthropometric assessment and interview component of the "Access and Coverage Survey". Enumerators will be responsible for conducting MUAC screenings on children within the target population, adhering to standardized protocols and ensuring data quality. We intend to recruit 15 Enumerators. The selection process will include thorough assessments (interviews) to identify qualified and motivated researchers. The Enumerators will work under the overall guidance of the Program Manager from ACF, with direct supervision from the national researcher and administrative management by NTAG.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to study protocols, guidelines, and ethical standards.
- Identify children aged 6-59 months and ensure informed consent is obtained from parents/guardians before screening children.
- Build rapport, maintain communication with the parents/guardians/care-giver, and collect data according to study requirements.
- Conduct anthropometric assessments on children aged 6-59 months using a standardized instrument.
- Conduct interview schedules with mothers/caregivers of children under 6-59 months of age.
- Maintain confidentiality of all participant information.
- Adhere to all NTAG data collection protocols and procedures.
- Promptly report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
- Work in coordination with research manager for quality assurance.
- Participate in training sessions on MUAC screening and data collection procedures.
- Regularly update and submit progress of the study to the research manager and documentation coordinator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, and Nursing with experience in the field of nutrition.
- Health Assistant (H.A.) or equivalent qualification with 2-3 years of professional experience in the field of health and nutrition.
- Experience working in a data collection role (preferred).
- Understanding of IMAM will be an added asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in Nepali language.
- Familiarity with the local context.
- Must be willing to travel to project sites within the target areas.
