Position: Enumerator for Child Growth Monitor (CGM)

NTAG – An Introduction

The NTAG is a non – profit organization passionate about long term solutions and impactful projects addressing nutrition and health challenges. NTAG focuses primary on improving the nutrition and health of children, adolescents, and women in Nepal. Established in early 1996 to support the National Vitamin A Project, NTAG has become a leading technical support group for the Ministry of Health and Population, assisting in the implementation of community-based health and nutrition programs.

Project Description

NTAG, in coordination with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), is planning to field-test the Child Growth Monitor (AI based APP) solution to assess its performance and compare it with traditional anthropometric measurements, considered the gold standard. These measurements will be collected under controlled conditions by trained enumerators and frontline healthcare workers. The study is designed to evaluate the accuracy of height and weight predictions for children ages 6-59 months (about 5 years) within a controlled setting.

Job Summary

NTAG, in partnership with WHH, seeks highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to serve as Enumerators for the Child Growth Monitor. Enumerators will be responsible for conducting anthropometric assessment of the children of the age of 6-59 months by adhering to standardized protocols and ensuring data quality. The selection process will include thorough assessment (interviews) to identify qualified and motivated individuals. The Enumerators will work under the overall guidance from WHH with direct supervision from the national researcher and administrative management by NTAG.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance to study protocols, guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Identify children aged 6-59 months and ensure informed consent is obtained from parents/guardians before screening children.
  • Build rapport, maintain communication with the parents/guardians/care-giver, and collect data according to study requirements.
  • Conduct anthropometric assessments on children aged 6-59 months using a standardized instrument.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all participant information.
  • Adhere to all NTAG data collection protocols and procedures.
  • Promptly report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Work in coordination with research manager for quality assurance.
  • Participate in training sessions on Anthropometric measurement and data collection procedures.
  • Regularly update and submit progress of the study to the program manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, and Nursing.
  • Health Assistant (H.A.), Staff nurse, Certified Medical Assistant (C.M.A.), or equivalent qualification with 2-3 years of professional experience in the field of health and nutrition.
  • Experience in Anthropometric measurement and data collection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Nepali language.
  • Familiarity with the local context.
  • Must be willing to travel to project sites within the target areas.
