Background
Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) Nepal was founded in 2003 and has since established a reputation as one of the leading clinical research groups in Nepal. There has been considerable investment in upgrading the laboratories and in training young Nepalese clinicians and scientists. The main research focus is on the most common infectious diseases affecting the Nepalese population with a major focus on undifferentiated febrile illnesses and antimicrobial resistance.
Job Summary 
The Enumerator will be responsible for collecting data for a pneumonia study conducted in primary health care and health post settings. This role involves interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and community members to gather accurate and reliable data through surveys, interviews, and observational methods. The enumerator will ensure that all data collection procedures are conducted in accordance with the study protocol and ethical guidelines.
Key responsibilities and tasks

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Ensure compliance to study protocols, guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Observe and record relevant clinical data and fill paper CRF as per requirement of the study
  • Collect data from parent/guardian /other sources to capture data according to study requirements
  • Recruit study participants in compliance with eligibility requirements including taking informed written consent 
  • Maintain communication with study participants including providing patient education, study information and medical information to ensure understanding.
  • Work in coordination with Research Coordination for quality assurance.
  • Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of all collected data.
  • Regularly update and submit progress of the study to the research coordinator.
Selection criteria

Essential criteria:

  • Certified Medical Assistant(CMA), Auxiliary Health Worker(AHW)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred criteria:

  • At least 1 year of experience in research
  • Understanding of CB-IMNCI
  • Experience working in primary health care or community health setting
