Job Title: District Program Coordinator (DPC)

Duty Station: Sindhupalchowk District

Organization: Rural Health and Education Service Trust (RHEST)

Employment Type: Full-time, contract-based (renewable based on performance and project requirements).

This position is important to implementing RHEST's mission of combating girl trafficking, promoting gender equality and supporting education for girls in program areas of Sindhupalchowk District.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of RHEST’s education, health, and anti-trafficking programs in Sindhupalchowk District.
  • Coordinate the distribution of scholarships, education materials, and other support to girls enrolled in RHEST’s programs.
  • Ensure that all program activities align with RHEST’s objectives and donor requirements.
  • Regularly visit schools, communities, and program sites to monitor progress.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned for reporting and advocacy purposes.
  • Build relationships with local stakeholders, including schools, community leaders, government bodies, and NGOs, to strengthen program delivery.
  • Represent RHEST in local forums and advocate for girl’s education and women’s health.
  • Conduct awareness-raising sessions on issues such as human trafficking, child marriage, and gender equality.
  • Supervise and guide field staff and volunteers to achieve program goals.
  • Organize training and capacity-building initiatives for the district team and community partners.
  • Manage district-level budgets and ensure proper utilization of program funds.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reports in compliance with RHEST policies, ensuring regular tracking and reconciliation of budget versus expenses.
  • Prepare and submit timely progress reports, financial reports, and updates to the central office.
  • Communicate program achievements and challenges effectively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

1. Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, education, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred or equivalent field experience.

2. Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project management, implementation, and monitoring in the NGO/INGO sector.
  • Experience working in education, health, gender, or anti-trafficking programs is highly desirable.

3. Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of local languages and culture in Sindhupalchowk District is an asset.

4. Other Requirements:

  • Commitment to RHEST’s mission and values, particularly in advancing gender equality and protecting girls and children.
  • Ability to travel frequently to remote areas within the district.
  • A valid driving license for Motorbike.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: NPR 67K per month in gross.
  • Benefits: as per RHEST Policy.
