This position will be responsible for providing support and coaching to WVI Nepal’s NGO Partners and ensure all NGO Partners adhere required compliances, which includes payment and disbursements; procurement review; monitoring and reporting as per tools with at least 60% visit to the field/Project locations. To ensure stewardship, accountability and transparency in the Finance and SCM sectors through active resourcing and empowerment of PNGOs.
Major Responsibilities
- Coordinate performance of partner NGO through feasible work plans with clear targets
- Involve partners and community groups in defining and adapting child selection criteria based on World Vision’s global standards and WVI NEPAL’s criteria of vulnerability.
- Support partners to design and engage in a community awareness process for Sponsorship and child selection criteria in ways that promote community ownership and include a focus on the most vulnerable children.
- Support partners to design and engage in the process of community awareness on Sponsorship requirement and essentials which will enhance the community ownership of Sponsorship.
- Design a process which fully involves partners to ensure that vulnerable children are selected adhering to the WV’s minimum child selection criteria in the Sponsorship programme.
- Design a child registration plan with partners which ensures transparency and participation in ways that are fun and meaningful for children.
- Ensure partners and children, are involved in managing the ongoing registration of children.
- Ensure that parents understand Sponsorship requirements before each child is registered through appropriate activities.
- Monitor and document performance of partner NGO implementing Technical projects, Child Sponsorship and Community Sponsorship operations and services to ensure that they are performedd timely, with quality, within budget as per project agreements and work plans.
- Conduct regular visits to Registered Children and partner communities, including unscheduled and random visits, as part of partner NGO’s performance monitoring.
- Facilitate technical support for partner NGO to ensure adequate technical quality in the delivery of Child Sponsorship and Community Sponsorship operations and services, meeting minimum organisational standards.
- Represent in PNGO’s board meeting as a District focal point on matters including, but not limited to, WVI Nepal’s Operational compliances, standards, requirements, technical guidance on recruitment/evaluation of core staffs and any other matter as per the need in coordination with respective supervisor or FO team.
- Coordinate responses and follow up to queries in a timely manner
- Coordinate data entry in Sponsorship systems and ensure integrity and quality of data input
- Ensure the quality, integrity, security and consistency of all information generated by WVI NEPAL’s Technical projects, Child Sponsorship and Community Sponsorship operations and services from the district
- Manage digitalization of Child Sponsorship and Community Sponsorship processes at the district level in alignment with organizational standards
- Build relationships with district and local governments, community stakeholders, implementing partner NGOs and other INGOs/NGOs in coordination with relevant staff from Field Office and National Office
- Promote basic understanding of key external stakeholders with regards to WVI NEPAL’s vision, mission and goal and its projects/programmes in the district
- Promote community engagement to ensure Sponsorship essentials mainly; Community led care and protection, children’s participation and voices and child monitoring and appropriate follow up action are well integrated into the local protection systems and technical program interventions in WVI NEPAL’s projects/programmes
- Share relevant information about the district with WVI NEPAL’s departments for sponsor/donor visit, security, public engagement, MEAL and proposal development purposes as required.
- Represent WVI Nepal as district focal point (Security, Child and Adult Safeguarding, WVI Nepal representative) in relevant networks, meetings in the district in consultation with the respective sector/leads as required.
- Identify, assess and communicate risks associated with Child Sponsorship and Community Sponsorship operations and services implemented by partner NGO. Coordinate the development of mitigation measures with partner NGOs
- Ensure that all business processes and operational activities that are associated with WVI NEPAL’s Child Sponsorship and Community Sponsorship are in compliance with WV’s standards and policies including Child And adult Safeguarding and understand and perform safeguarding responsibilities and obligations as per organizational policies and standards.
- Contribute to strategic organizational process including annual planning, budgeting and reporting processes, and audit processes
- Perform other organizational and business processes that are required to contribute to WVI NEPAL’s strategic objectives and to maintain a healthy organizational life
- Increasing demonstration and understanding of and commitment to World Vision’s Core Values in the approach to work and relationships
Requirements Include:
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum of 3-year experience in similar or equivalent positions in development sector or Sponsorship-focused organization
- Experience working in a rural or remote district of Nepal
Required education, training, license, registration and certification
- Experience in preparing and facilitating training workshops
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science/Development Studies/ Sociology/ International Relation or any relevant field
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Understanding of poverty issues, development theories and sustainable development practices including empowerment approach through community-led activities and advocacy
- Strong people management skills including performance management and capacity building skills (facilitation, mentoring and coaching skills)
- Effective written and oral communications skills including presentation and reporting skills
- Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity. Strong collaboration and partnership skills to mobilize engagement and influence.
- Computer and Technology literacy; Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Strong experience in using technology including information management database softwares and platforms
Travel and/or Work Environment:
- Will be required to be based in one of WVI NEPAL’s operational district and working from partner NGO’s office
- Will be required to spend at least 50% of work time conducting monitoring and field visits in target municipalities and wards
- Willingness to work outside office hours especially when conducting monitoring/field visits, when hosting sponsor/donor visits and meeting Sponsorship deadline for key deliverables
