LWR has been working in Nepal since 2013 implementing projects around Livelihood, disaster risk reduction, climate change and emergency opeations. Lutheran World Relief (LWR) seeks  qualified candidates for the expected USAID-funded Nepal Agricultural Inputs (Ag Inputs) Activity. Ag Inputs aims to improve the productivity, competitiveness, inclusivity, and resilience of Nepali agriculture by increasing the availability, accessibility, and use of four critical inputs: irrigation; improved seed; fertilizer; and agricultural machinery. Nepal Ag Inputs’ interventions will be inclusive of local marginalized and vulnerable community groups, including women, youth, and people with disabilities. The positions are contingent upon the activity’s award and USAID approval and expected to be fulltime for five years duration of the project.

1. Development Program Manager-Business Facilitator:

Development Program Manager (Business Facilitator) is  based at one of the Regional Offices in Nepal’s Province 5 or Province 7 and reports to the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP).  The Development Program Manager (Business Facilitator) will also receive technical guidance and support from the appropriate Technical Leader for his/her technical sector. The incumbent serves as  the front line of Ag Inputs, implementing Nepal Agricultural Inputs and Market Systems (Ag Inputs) methodologies into practical actions at the district and provincial level. The incumbents of this position map out their zone of intervention in terms of market actors and value chain actors, opportunities, and constraints to district and provincial level growth and work with other team members to devise a tailored strategy. Development Program Manager (Business Facilitator) create linkages and identify business incentives for market actors to invest and create new relationships that enhance inputs profitability and volumes of product moved.

2. Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Manager- Kathmandu based. 

The incumbent will serve as the overall GESI lead for the project and will ensure the integration of GESI focused interventions, considerations, and activities across Ag Inputs’ four objectives. The GESI Manager will contribute to the project’s work plan development, indicator selection and monitoring of GESI focused results, and the project’s development and learning agenda. The GESI Manager will report to the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP).

3. Development Program Manager- Engagement

The position will be based in Kathmandu and will report to the Deputy Chief of Party and is responsible for managing the successful implementation of designated Ag Inputs engagements. She or he will provide the oversight needed to ensure technical excellence and operational efficiency on Ag Inputs, under the technical guidance of one of Ag Inputs’ sectoral managers. Incumbents of this positions will often play both the operational manager and technical support role on a buy-in activity.
