VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Simulation Society of Nepal (SSN) was established in 2019 with a commitment to implement simulation-based programs to improve the skills and competency of the healthcare professionals and ultimately improve quality of care in Nepal. SSN has been implementing simulation-based programs in collaboration with partners like UNICEF, GIZ, with support from Laerdal Global Health and under the guidance of Ministry of Health and Population. By providing a platform for networking, collaboration, and learning among simulation professionals in Nepal, SSN aims to create a positive impact on healthcare.
Under the guidance of Family Welfare Division, UNICEF Nepal in collaboration with Simulation Society of Nepal and technical support from Laerdal Global Health, is implementing a project "Strengthening competencies and quality improvement of maternal and newborn care" in "Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Province". The project involves close collaboration with government stakeholders, experts, healthcare institutions, professional associations, and external development partners.
Hence, Simulation Society of Nepal is seeking applications for the following positions:
1. Position: Data enumerators
No. of candidates required: 2
Project site: 10 Hospitals (Provincial level, PHC and birthing centers) in Lumbini province and Sudurpaschim province
Duration: Short-term for baseline, midline and endline assessments
Type: Temporary position (part time)
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Pre-testing of the tool: Lead the pre-testing of the tool and revise as per the need.
- Data Collection: Lead the data collection by gathering through the research questionnaire developed, In-depth interviews, Key informant interviews or observation checklists as required in the 10 project sites in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim province.
- Data Entry: Input collected quantitative and qualitative data into databases or software for analysis. Transcribe and translate the qualitative data.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data collected.
- Compliance: Follow ethical guidelines and data protection regulations.
- Collaboration: Work with researcher lead, supervisors, project managers to align goals and methodologies and execution of the assessment.
Professional and Educational requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing or midwifery or public health or medicine.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of working experience with experience in data collection preferably within a consultancy or research-focused organization.
- Proficient in qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to conduct in-depth interviews, key informant interviews, document research findings in a clear and engaging manner.
- Knowledge of maternal and newborn health care field, skills assessment and quality improvement initiatives is an asset.
- Proficiency in using research tools and software (e.g., excel, SPSS, NVivo) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team-oriented environment.
