terre des hommes Germany is an international children's aid organization is looking for energetic and dedicated Country Coordinator-Nepal with additional function as deputy regional coordinator South Asia (ROSA – Regional Office South Asia of Terre des Hommes Germany) in its Nepal country Office based in Inar Pulchowk, Lalitpur, Nepal. This position is open to Nepalese citizens only.
Duties and responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Development
- Strategic Development: Lead the development of the Nepal strategy, ensuring alignment with the Regional Strategy and contextualization of Terre des Hommes' Global Strategic Goals for the regional context.
- Deputy Regional Coordination: Act as the Deputy Regional Coordinator for South Asia, working synergistically with the Regional Coordinator ROSA based in India. Oversee projects in other South Asian countries, ensuring financial compliance and strategic alignment.
Program and Project Management
- Program Development: Oversee program development in Nepal and other countries, in collaboration with the Regional Coordinator. Identify and support partner organizations and program-based funding sources, sharing responsibility for regional program development.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate the development of concept notes, factsheets, and proposals in Nepal, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, while supporting regional project elaboration processes.
- Project Assessments: Lead mid-term and annual project assessments in Nepal and contribute to the evaluation of the Regional Strategy.
Human Resources and Team Management
- Human Resources Management: Manage the TDH team in Nepal and share responsibility for human resources across the region, fostering a collaborative and effective team environment.
- Meeting Organization: Organize regular staff and management meetings, including annual planning, assessments, and capacity-building activities.
Financial and Office Management
- Financial Management: Ensure comprehensive financial and technical management of funds, adhering to guidelines from the Head Office.
- Office Management: Oversee daily project issues and challenges, along with financial and administrative tasks of the regional office.
Communication, Fundraising, and Engagement
- Information Flow Support: Facilitate effective communication between the Regional Office and Head Office, as coordinated by the Regional Coordinator.
- Communication and Fundraising: Secure funding for projects in Nepal from third-party donors and special calls, with a focus on climate initiatives.
- Partner and Youth Engagement: Lead the preparation and implementation of an action plan for partner dialogue and the international youth network.
Policy Implementation and Monitoring
- Policy Implementation: Implement and monitor the enforcement of TDH policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least master degree (environment/management/natural resource management/ development studies) a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience working in managerial position in development sectors.
- Work experiences in other Asian countries would be added advantage
- Candidates having experience on child rights, climate change, environment protection, gender project cycle management, proposal and report writing and budget planning and monitoring
- Willing to travel remote areas and other countries frequently for project monitoring
- Proficiency in English language (both in written and spoken)
