ADRA Nepal invites applications from qualified and experienced Nepalese Citizens for the following positions.
1. Cooperative and Market Development Officer- One Position
Station: based in Butwal with frequent field travel to Rupendehi and Kapilvastu district
Cooperative and Market Development Officer will be working in Jersey Overseas Aid funded The Enhanced Rural AI (TERAI) project for Smallholder Dairy Farmers in Nepal and will act as a coordination focal point for the implementing partner besides main role as a cooperative and market development; responsible to support for planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the project, technically backstopping partner staffs for field activities implementation; assist local implementing partner organization for planning and implementation of technical trainings at field level, developing dairy related training and IEC materials; responsible for identification of potential dairy opportunities at local level, developing market information system, formation of new cooperatives, strengthening existing cooperative, assistance for input and output marketing at the project areas, collection Centre establishment/strengthening and coordination/collaboration with different stakeholders at local level; plan and execute training to cooperative and staffs on cooperative and collection Centre management, and business plan development; conduct farmers market training, support to establishing linkage between milk producer farmers, milk collectors and processors; support cooperatives for the construction, management and operation of collection Centre; will also be responsible for monitoring of the project activities at the field and provide timely feedbacks to the supervisor while supporting in preparation of project reports and data collection.
Qualification and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred master’s degree) in Cooperative and Market Development, Livestock development/Veterinary Science; at least 3 years of experience in dairy development including input and out marketing of dairy cooperatives. Experience in enterprise development, market development, and women empowerment will be value added; willing to work within a team and independently; team player who can develop strong collaborative relations across the partners, Strong skills on dairy cooperative formation, capacity develop; strong communication, coordination, and collaboration skills Support to motivate and establish team, partners, and other stakeholders with diverse backgrounds; proven experience in organizing and facilitating trainings related to dairy feed, breed, health, input and output management and marketing; good communication skill with fluency [written and spoken] both in Nepali and English
2. Gender and Safeguarding Officer- One Position
Station: based in Kathmandu with frequent field travel
Gender and Safeguarding Officer is responsible to ensure gender, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and safeguarding in all aspects of projects implementation and plays an important and inspiring role in mainstreaming gender, disability and establishing/strengthening safeguarding procedures within organization and programs. Together with M&E Coordinator, the Gender and Safeguarding Officer will develop measurable indicators to monitor GEDSI including disability and safeguarding in the projects and integrate those with project monitoring and information system as well as ensure that the reporting system is aligned to track GEDSI and safeguarding data. He/she is required to enhance the capacity of implementing partners in GEDSI and safeguarding procedures, policies and standards, Code of conduct and guidelines. Frequent field visit undertaken monitor, supervise partner’s technical staffs and activities, issues flagged up and areas of improvement. Support the supervisor in preparing and timely submission of project report periodically. (monthly, quarterly, annually) consolidating partners’ report. Support field staffs of partner in preparing quality case stories from the field periodically He/she will establish community-level complaints and feedback mechanisms that facilitate reporting of concerns by beneficiaries and promote their participation in project design and implementation.
Qualification and Competencies:
- At least Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Social Science, Rural Development, Development Studies or equivalent; at least 3 years of similar experiences in development projects; experience as GEDSI Officer in regular development projects and humanitarian projects is highly preferred; a strong interest and understanding in gender, disability and social changes issues in communities; an ability to involve men, women, children, PWD and others across all groups in achieving change in communities; proven experience or interest in organizing and facilitating trainings; positive attitude and willingness to learn; willing to work within a diverse team, different communities and independently.
