CLEAN UP NEPAL, established in 2014, is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with a mission to clean spaces, clean air, clean water and knowledgeable communities that have responsible lifestyles and good health. The organization’s focus is to ensure that communities have access to effective solid waste management and water, sanitation, and hygiene systems along with the necessary knowledge and resources for maintaining a healthy and diseases-free lifestyle. CLEAN UP NEPAL strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment by fostering connections, providing education, and empowering local communities and other stakeholders through a solution-oriented people-centered approach.
Background
CLEAN UP NEPAL taking the lead for the baseline study on the major three thematic area social, economic, and climate justice, which is in the support of IM Swedish Development Partner. Similarly, SOSEC, Yuwalaya, DDS, DSDC, FKDF, and CLEAN UP NEPAL are the technical and district partners for this implementation of projects under these thematic areas.
Provide a comprehensive overview of the current social, economic, and climate justice of Dang, Salyan, and Kapilvastu districts, with a focus on targeted groups such as women, youth, and marginalized communities. Highlight existing challenges, disparities, and inequalities related to gender, caste, ethnicity, disability, and other factors contributing to social exclusion.
The implementing districts and local levels are:
- Dang: Tulsipur Sub Metropolitan, Ghorahi Sub Metropolitan and Lamahi Municipality
- Salyan: Chhatreshwori Rural Municipality and Kapurkot Rural Municipality
- Kapilvastu: Maharajgunj Municipality and Kapilvastu Municipality
Objectives:
- Assess the extent of gender and social injustices prevalent in Nepalese society, including but not limited to discrimination, violence, and harmful practices against women and marginalized groups.
- Evaluate the economic situation of targeted women and youth from marginalized communities, identifying barriers to economic inclusion and sustainable livelihoods.
- Analyze the environmental context and climate change impacts on vulnerable communities, assessing their resilience and adaptation strategies.
- To establish the baseline for progress tracking and post-completion evaluation of the intervention.
- Review project log frame to ensure result-based M&E and measurable indicators.
- Collect information to establish the baseline value of outcome and output indicators.
- Provide recommendations based on findings to strengthen the efficiency, Effectiveness, and sustainability of the project.
Consultant Service: Consultant (Baseline Study of social, economic, and climate justice)
Deliverables:
- Baseline report detailing findings, analysis, and recommendations for each thematic area (social, economic, and climate justice).
- Data sets and analysis tools for future monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Presentation of findings to stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and community representatives.
