Project information:
ALIVE is a 5-year project aiming to develop and test the feasibility, acceptability, and appropriateness of intervention for preventing depression and anxiety among adolescents living in poverty-affected urban settings in Nepal. The effectiveness of the interventions would be assessed by using self-report mental health tools, neuropsychological assessments, and physiological measures. The assessments would be done among adolescents and their caregivers through surveys.
TPO Nepal seeks competent, committed, and result-oriented candidates for the short-term position of Consultant Research Assistant.

Major responsibilities:
The Consultant Research Assistants will be responsible for the following duties:
- Conduct a face-to-face second follow-up survey with research participants (adolescents and their parents) using Android tablets
- After training perform neuropsychological tests and heart rate variability among adolescent participants using the electronic/smart devices
- Coordinate with research participants, and schools for data collection
- Regular debriefing and sharing the experience and learning from the tool administration with the supervisors.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of psychology, nursing, public health, population health, anthropology, epidemiology, global health or related field
- Flexible to work beyond office hours when required
- Good command of spoken Nepali languages
- Preference will be given to those who have earlier experience in data collection using standardized structured mental health tools and working with adolescents
- Prior experience in conducting surveys using ODK would be an added advantage
- Candidates with two-wheelers would have a plus point.
