Oxfam are conducting a Request for Proposal (RFP) process and invites you to submit a proposal to provide Oxfam, within their requirements, for:
TITLE: Consultancy service on Analysis of the Kathmandu Valley Flood 2024 through a Watershed Management Perspectives
Oxfam Program:
Emergency Flood and Landslide Response Project
Objective of the assignment:
- Identifying the root causes of the September 2024 floods and evaluating existing flood management strategies.
- Analyzing drinking water supply systems, drainage networks, and flood mitigation infrastructure in Kathmandu Valley.
- Assessing the impact of Melamchi Drinking Water Project’s additional water injection on the Bagmati watershed.
- Conducting rainfall analysis, flood modulation, and GIS mapping of water sources within the valley.
- Evaluating existing disaster risk management frameworks, early warning systems, and inter-municipal coordination mechanisms.
- Providing actionable recommendations for improved watershed management of Kathmandu valley to enhance flood resilience, watershed management, and strengthen water governance structure.
