VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
A leading media, communication and public relations organization is looking for the following to implement long term projects and assignments for some of the leading multinational companies and development organizations and agencies based in Nepal. These are full time positions based in Kathmandu with occasional trips outside Kathmandu as well as outside Nepal.
These positions are initially for two-year period with possibility of extension.
1. Position: Media, Communication and PR Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for leading, managing and coordinating a project that is geared towards enhancing branding and visibility of multinational companies and donor agencies in Nepal. This position involves human resource management, project management, conducting research and analysis in media, communication and public relations; overseeing project progress, and engaging stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration throughout the process.
General Qualifications and Skills
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience or a university degree in fields such as communication, journalism, law, social sciences, economics, political science, business studies, or management.
- Fluency in English and Nepali, both spoken and written; strong command of English language both oral and written.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in managing and implementing media, communication and public relations projects, strategies and related activities.
- Familiarity with Nepal's political, cultural, and economic context, as well as with donor agency programs and policies, is a strong advantage.
- Experience and understanding of content development process (video, audio, graphic design, filmmaking) and social media.
- Expertise to draft reports and write ups needed for reporting.
Professional Experience
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders and monitor project progress, demonstrated through at least 3 prior assignments.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience conducting research and providing analytical insights in the arena of media, communication and public relations.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in managing project resources, including planning, budgeting, and disbursements.
- Successfully delivered at least 5 events with a focus on environmental sustainability; experience organizing donor-funded green initiatives is a plus.
- Evidence of completing at least 3 assignments involving collaboration with and/or mobilization of Nepalese journalists and media outlets.
2. Position: Creative Director/Content Strategist/Content Marketing Specialist
The Creative Director will be tasked with shaping/creating/leading to create and executing innovative campaigns visions, strategies, and concepts, while also overseeing their implementation and evaluating outcomes. Requires thorough understanding of content development process, and have the skills, expertise and proven experience of having led the development and dissemination process.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: A degree in communication, journalism, law, economics, political or social sciences, management, business studies, or a related field. Alternatively, 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Communication Expertise: Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in developing and implementing communication strategies.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in both written and spoken Nepali is mandatory. Knowledge of additional local languages in Nepal is advantageous.
- Cultural and Political Awareness: Familiarity with Nepal's political, economic, and cultural environment is highly valued.
Professional Experience
- Public Diplomacy or Business Communication: A minimum of 5 years' experience in public diplomacy, business communication, or public relations.
- Media and Collaboration Network: Completed at least 3 assignments demonstrating a strong network and collaboration with Nepali media, journalists, influencers, and content creators.
- Institutional Engagement: At least 3 years' experience working with government bodies, NGOs, or civil society organizations.
- International Expertise: Previous experience with international organizations or diplomatic missions is a plus.
Professional Experience
- Advertising and Marketing: At least 3 years' experience in advertising or marketing roles.
- Strategic Content Development: Demonstrated ability to draft communication strategies, ToRs, implementation methodologies, and reports or briefing papers for short-term services.
- Campaign and Progress Monitoring: A minimum of 3 years' experience in managing strategic campaigns and monitoring their progress.
- Event Communication Leadership: Proven expertise in developing communication strategies and plans, creating content, and leading the communication aspects of events (minimum 5 assignments).
