International Alert invites application from interested and qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Co-Lead Researcher (Part-time)

Job Location: Kathmandu (20% field visits).

Role Overview

Responsible to design and implement research tools for the context and risk analysis and carry out the research; lead to analyse the information and produce the high-quality research report in close coordination with project team; and play role in coordinating with all the major stakeholders and ensure the safety measures while conducting the research.

Requirements 

Master’s degree in a relevant subject, such as social science, conflict and peacebuilding studies, statistics, law and other relevant subjects. Minimum 7 years working experience with proven track record in:

• Leading research and analyses resulting in high-quality research outputs and reports
• Coordination and networking with a range of different stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of media context and dynamics in Nepal.
• Strong understanding of social, political and economy context and situation of Nepal, particularly of the Terai region.
• Sound understanding of Gender and Social Inclusion debates and policies.
• Knowledge of peacebuilding theory and practice, access to justice and security.
• Skills to clearly communicate complex issues relating to conflict to a range of audiences.
• Excellent analytical and writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in collaboration with individuals from different backgrounds.
• Fluency in Nepali and English.
