Call for proposals

Call for proposals from consulting firms/ individual consultants to conduct a feasibility study for the project proposal “Sustainable tourism and climate adaptation for livelihood in Dhorpatan” in Baglung, Nepal to be financed jointly by terre des hommes Germany and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

terre des hommes Germany (“tdh”) is an international children's rights organization that promotes equitable development without racial, religious, political, cultural, or gender-based discrimination since 1967. tdh is an independent non-governmental organisation that promotes civic engagement and the participation of children and youths in all aspects of its work. tdh sees its mission in strengthening children and realising children's rights for all children. We are convinced that sustainable development is possible for all people if the interests of children and future generations are respected and realised.

The project area is Dhorpatan Municipality and Nishi Khola Rural municipality of Dhorpatan Reserve, Baglung Nepal. The specific objective of the project is to promote sustainable tourism, community-based adaptation mechanisms, sustainably strengthen resilience to climate change impacts and ensure ecological sound income generation. In the multi-sectoral project, communities should be empowered to independently implement rural development and climate change adaptation in a holistic approach: 1) promotion of nature- and community-based tourism offers and agricultural value chains, 2) structure and capacity building in the communities on environmental protection and climate change, 3) lobbying for the inclusion of ecotourism and nature conservation-related measures by the sectoral government authorities.

Interested agencies are requested to send their Technical and Financial Proposal along with the CVs of team members and following documents to info.tdhgnepal@gmail.com. The last date of the receipt of proposals along with required documents is on 19.10.2022. Proposals submitted after the last date/ incomplete proposals will be rejected. Only shortlisted agencies will be contacted for further selection process.

Required documents:

• A narrative proposal of no more than 3 pages, including relevant experience, planned methodology, timeline, and staffing for the feasibility study
• Detailed financial proposal for the feasibility study
• Separate list of travel expenses, which will be reimbursed upon presentation of proof
• Two Sample reports; published or unpublished reports approved by the respective clients focusing on the same sector
• Firm registration documents (for consulting firms)
• Latest tax clearance (for consulting firms)
