CALL FOR PROPOSAL TO CONDUCT
EVALUATION OF UMN’S “SECURE” PROJECT
United Mission to Nepal (UMN) has been serving the people of Nepal since 1954. UMN, with funding support from Transform Aid International (TAI), has been implementing the “Strengthen Community Resilience through Livelihoods and Environment Improvement (SECURE)” project in Kapilvastu Cluster in partnership with a local partner, Dalit Social Development Centre (DSDC). This is the end of the Phase II Project Evaluation covering a period from July 2022 to July 2025 (three years).
The proposed intervention “SECURE” is focused on strengthening community resilience through sustainable livelihood development, and social and environmental empowerment by organising and empowering vulnerable people such as women, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), landless and smallholders in economic, social, and environmental sectors. To achieve the goal, it is working with 63 local community structures through capacity-building training and supporting them in developing, reviewing and implementing their actions. The structures include 32 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), eight Pond Conservation and Management Committees (PCMCs), six School Disaster Management Committees (School DMCs), three Community Disaster Management Committees (CDMCs), one RM-level Local Disaster Management Committee (LDMC), and five Ward level Disaster Management Committees (WDMCs).
