Environment and Social impact assessment, development of ESMP and baseline collection in Khata and Basanta Corridor

A proposed two and a half year project aims to enhance viability and safe dispersal of tigers and their prey within the transboundary Khata-Basanta-Dudhwa (KBD) through securing functional connectivity of habitats/corridors, minimizing human-tiger conflict and poaching and improving community livelihoods. The project is to be implemented by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), including WWF Germany (lead executing agency), WWF India and WWF Nepal supported by IUCN’s Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP), funded by the German Cooperation via KfW Development Bank. 

The technical team from WWF Nepal has conducted an initial threat assessment in terms of tiger connectivity and human wildlife conflict utilizing scientific approaches and participatory community consultations and have identified specific project implementation sites: 29 Community Forest User Groups (CFUGs) within 6 Community Forests Coordination Committees (CFCCs) located in 6 municipalities in Khata and Basanta Corridors. The environment and social impact assessment (ESIA) and baseline collection will be conducted in the targeted 29 CFUGs.

WWF Nepal is seeking the services of a consultancy team to conduct Environment and Social Impact Assessment, development of a comprehensive Environment and Social Management Plan to mitigate the impacts and baseline collection of project indicators.

Interested VAT registered firms in Nepal are requested to submit technical and financial proposals providing a detail breakdown of total budget in Nepali Rupees, electronically to: proposalsubmission@wwfnepal.org.
