Call for Expression of Interest
FAIRMED is a Swiss development organization dedicated to work with its motto “Health for the Poorest”. The organization plays an important role in providing health care access to the marginalized communities and individuals who are prone to diseases, disability, and poverty. The core focus of FAIRMED's work in Nepal is Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) – Leprosy, LF, Kalaazar, etc and Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH), while it interweaves GESI and Disability Inclusive Development (DID) as cross cutting themes into its programs to strengthen the health system and increase the uptake of public health services.

FAIRMED Foundation Nepal hereby invites EOI from the eligible and interested individual consultant or firms who can fulfill the requirements as specified below:
ObjectiveThe main objective of this consultancy is to capacitate the project staff in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) required in mapping and its regular updates based on the LNOB approach and provide follow-up technical support to the staff as required.
Scope of the consultancy
The consultancy aims to strengthen field staff's GIS skills for data creation, management, analysis, and visualization, enabling informed decision-making and progress tracking. It includes reviewing existing LNOB mapping, refining community and vulnerable population data, and providing ongoing technical support — either in person or virtually — for the next 3 months.The primary objectives of the Health GIS Training are:
- To introduce concepts, tools, and applications of GIS in public health.
- To build skills in data collection, analysis, and visualization using open-source GIS software.
- To demonstrate how GIS can support decision-making in the management of public health issues, such as disease outbreaks, health inequalities, environmental health, and resource distribution (focused on LNOB indicators)
- To empower professionals to integrate GIS tools into their workflow for effective public health planning and implementation.
- Provide follow up support as needed for it use in decision making process
Major Task:
- Capacity Building/ Training on GIS to project staff
- Review of Maps prepared by the trained staff based on the existing LNOB and project information.

Interested and eligible Consultants/firms are requested to submit the EOI through email at nepal@fairmed.ch clearly marking the subject with “GIS Training” by 26th February 2025, 17:00 Hrs (Nepali Time). Please include the following to proceed with the application
- A Letter of Interest, CV, PAN, Citizenship or VAT registration, TAX clearance in case of consulting firms with a brief introduction, highlighting relevant experience.
- A link to an online portfolio or samples of previous work.
- A concept notes and proposed budget outline for the services.

Bid received after the deadline will not be considered and only shortlisted firms/suppliers will be called for further process. The organization reserves all rights to qualify/disqualify application with or without providing any reasons whatsoever. All bids will be treated with the highest confidentiality.
