Subject for EOI: CALL FOR EOI FROM IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS
In response to various forms of challenges experienced by migrant workers throughout Asia, the IOM regional Migration, Business and Human Rights Programme in Asia (MBHR Asia) aligning with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and operating under the principles of Protect, Respect, and Remedy, seeks to advance responsible business conduct and safeguard the rights of migrant workers within global supply chains. MBHR Asia is supported by funding from the European Union and the Government of Sweden and prioritizes the comprehensive respect for human and labour rights, particularly among vulnerable migrant population. Through this initiative, IOM collaborates with governments, businesses and civil society to uphold the human and labour rights of migrant workers in key sectors and migration corridors. IOM contributes to enhancing and expanding regular labour migration pathways that ensure ethical recruitment, facilitate labour mobility and decent work. Targeting key source and destinations such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, the programme highlights protection from exploitation, unsafe conditions, and unethical practices. By encouraging such protections, migrant workers across the region can thrive economically, contributing positively to both their home and host countries.
In this context, the IOM Mission in Nepal is seeking a Programme Implementing Partner (IP) to serve as organized advocates for the protection of migrant workers’ rights and ensure their voices as rights holders be included in the design and implementation of migrant centric interventions, within the space of the MBHR Asia programme. Implementing Partner (IP) engagement will support in promoting ethical business practices and corporate responsibility and advocating for policy reforms to safeguard migrant workers' rights. In partnership with the selected IP, IOM Nepal aims to strengthen and empower migrant workers voice and enhance private sector accountability within supply chains while promoting safer migration. This involves designing a comprehensive work plan and implementation strategy focused on advocacy and awareness raising campaign i.e. community outreach, mobilization of target groups, effective communication, monitoring, quality assurance and visibility efforts.
