Context:

Under the overall administrative supervision of the Chief of Mission and the overall guidance from Chief Migration Health Officer and technical supervision from National Radiologist and direct supervision from the Senior radiology technologist, the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities.

Core Functions / Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure consistently high quality CXRs through:
    • Checking and correcting technical quality of the images
    • Adherence to technical requirements of resettlement countries 
    • Close supervision and training of MHD staff, involved in CXR taking
  • Carry out X-ray imaging of migrants as requested by the Physicians or Radiologist in accordance with IOM and international standards ensuring proper client identification.
  • Properly use UKTB global websites for CXRs under UKTB program.
  • Perform proper processing of digitalizing of images on DR machine.
  • Implement safety procedures in the radiology unit in accordance with the radiation rules and regulations. Implement infection control measures.
  • Suggest additional measures to improve the quality, speed or safety of the radiological procedures.
  • Daily data entry of the individuals CXR report in KTM database and prepare statistical reports and analysis of operational activities. 
  • If needed, fulfill clerk’s duties, such as preparation of working lists, forms, barcodes, checking refugees’ identity, record keeping. 
  • Assist other MHAC units with handling medical documents and filing system.
  • Arrange and make sure back up service is secured when going on leave.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Radiography with 2 years of relevant work experience; or,
  • Proficiency level education with 4 years of diagnostic radiography, especially on CXR procedure.

Experience

  • Experience in radiography, especially CXR, knowledge on CR machine is an advantage.
  • Good computer skill is essential, especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effectively applies knowledge of health issues in execution of responsibilities at appropriate level.
  • Maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work.
  • Willingness and ability to perform clerical activities in the X-ray unit is a strong requirement.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Skills

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to organize.

Languages

Fluency in English, Nepali is required.
