1. Join the Youth4Humanity Initiative: Recall of Applications!

Habitat for Humanity Nepal proudly introduces "Youth4Humanity" (Y4H), an innovative initiative rooted in our Country Strategy 2024-2027. By placing youth leadership at the heart of planning and execution, Y4H aims to harness the power of youth to address and tackle critical issues like housing injustice and climate crisis and empower young people as change agents.

2. Aim of this Initiative:

  • Build a Network: Create a vibrant, interconnected network of young leaders at local, provincial, and national levels to challenge housing injustices and climate crisis.
  • Empower Youths: Equip youths with the necessary information, skills, tools, resources, and networks to design and implement impactful actions to address climate-induced housing challenges in your community.

3. Benefits of Joining Y4H:

  • Co-Creation Workshop: Four members from your group will attend a 3-day co-creation workshop in September 2024 to design your action plan.
  • Micro-Grants: Receive funding to implement your action plan.
  • Ongoing Support: Habitat Nepal will support you for the success of your Y4H actions.

5. Qualification and experience required: 

It is mandatory for Habitat Nepal to have the following profile of the interested entities or organizations: 

A. Youth-led Leadership:

  • Led by youth with strong leadership and a commitment to youth empowerment.
  • Active leadership teams involved in youth development and community service.

B. Experience and Track Record:

  • Proven success in organizing and managing community-based projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize youths and lead impactful actions.

C. Communication and Collaboration:

  • Effective communication skills, including experience with digital platforms.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with other organizations and stakeholders. 

D. Financial and Operational Capacity:

  • Proven experience in managing funds and project budgets.
  • Adequate resources and infrastructure to support project activities.

E. Youth Engagement and Training:

  • Strong focus on involving youth in leadership and decision-making.
  • Capability to provide or facilitate training for youth members.

F. Transparency and Innovation:

  • Commitment to being transparent and accountable in project management.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions for housing injustices and climate crisis. 

G. Adaptability and Endorsements:

  • Flexibility to address project challenges and adapt as needed.
  • Strong recommendations or endorsements from previous partners or stakeholders.

D. Innovative Ideas: Does your group have any innovative ideas for implementing your actions or initiatives? If so, please list them. (Max 200 words)

E. Collaboration and Partnerships: Describe any collaborations or partnerships your group has established. How have these relationships strengthened your efforts? (Max 200 words)

7. Application Process and Deadline:

Application should be received no later than 11 September. The Application should include the following: 

  • A cover letter showing an expression of interest
  • Answers to the application questions
  • Organization’s brief profile
  • Legal documents as mentioned below

8. Legal documents required:

  • A copy of registration certificate
  • A copy of latest tax clearance certificate (if any)
  • A copy of PAN/VAT certificate

9. Ethical Protocols

Abiding with the organization, the consultancy service has responsibilities to maintain an environment that prevents harassment, sexual exploitation, and abuse, safeguards the rights of beneficiaries and community members (especially children), and promotes the implementation of Habitat for Humanity’s code of conduct.

Throughout the assignment engagements, the service providers are expected to adhere to Habitat Nepal’s code of conduct including the safeguarding policy ensuring that all measures are taken to protect the rights, safety, and welfare of the individuals and communities involved.

The service provider should guarantee that the analysis is technically accurate and reliable and is conducted in a transparent and impartial manner. All products resulting from this analysis will be owned by Habitat. The service provider will not be allowed, without prior authorization in writing, to present any of the results or use any product resulting from the analysis as his or her own or for private publication purposes.
