PHASE Nepal is currently looking for suitable candidates for the following position:

ExperienceA minimum of 2 years’ experience in awareness raising, capacity building and pragmatic support to the local farmers to use climate-resilient agriculture techniques.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Select vulnerable individuals/families in the project area following selection criteria in close coordination with the Palika.
  • Assess needs for material and equipment support for setting up home gardens and vegetable production.
  • Prepare a detailed list of materials, equipment, and seeds needed to support the selected farmers in a timely manner.
  • Provide training to the selected individuals on climate-smart agriculture and organic seasonal and off-seasonal vegetable farming (including biopesticide production, seed production, etc.).
  • Provide on-site technical guidance to the selected individuals/families to implement climate-smart techniques for vegetable production and agricultural practices.
  • Timely distribute seeds, materials, and equipment and maintain a distribution list for the project manager as required.
  • Follow up with beneficiaries regularly during the production period to monitor for damage and losses.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of beneficiaries, training participants, materials, seeds, and equipment received.
  • Organize regular meetings and facilitate group mobilization in the community related to the livelihood interventions.
  • Maintain close coordination with relevant community stakeholders, including the ward and Palika.
  • Facilitate monitoring visits by the Palika, donors/funding partners, and PHASE management.
  • Engage in regular data collection, compilation, and reporting to the line manager.
  • Prepare timely updates, reports, and success stories and submit them to the line manager within the agreed timeframe.
  • Participate in PHASE training and other activities.
  • Perform other activities related to the job.
  • Report to the designated project manager/officer.

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of the application of climate smart agricultural practices, season and off-season vegetable cultivation and skill on training farmers
  • Good IT skills to maintain records and reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, promoting teamwork and creating a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • High level of honesty, integrity and passion to work with vulnerable people in remote areas
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately analyze situations and make well-informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong ability to work independently or with minimum supervision.

Other benefits:

Medical Insurance of up to NRs. 2,25,000/- that covers employee and his/her dependent family up to two members, and Accidental Insurance of Rs. 2,000,000/- for staff member only.

Travel and accommodation cost on actual basis and daily subsistence allowance as per the organization rules for travels outside of duty station.
